Doctors appointment follow up
Yesterday I was back at the Gp for the results of my blood tests and to have my bp re-checked as have doubled the dosage to 10 mg . First he checked the bp and said we will leave that for the moment as it had not changed, but he did say it usually takes between 10 and 14 days to see a difference. Asked

Letting off steam!
Busy last two weeks with consultants, scans and specialists. I had MRI scan done last Wednesday, get the results this Friday. I went to see a Colorectal Consultant yesterday, because my gynae consultant referred me due to change in bowel habits. I have been scheduled for a colonoscopy for the 25th

Headaches
For just over a month I've been suffering with intense headaches, pain in my right eye, and light sensitivity. I saw my GP this evening and he put me on 10mg amitriptyline, sent me for an eye test and told me to contact my rheumatologist to make him aware (I'm in Uni in Cardiff but still with my consultant

3 days of unbearable pain
Hello ladies, I've got up for the 3rd day in a row in a lot of pain, it's unbearable where waking is too much let alone getting into work. I am on pregablin and amitriptyline, I spoke to my doctor yesterday who then also prescribed me cocodomal. I've been using heat pads but it just won't give over.

Help
Hi All. Thank you for adding me to this group. I've officially had Fibromyalgia for about 18 months but I think I've had it longer. I've had trouble with my joints especially my knees since I was 14, I'm now 42. I'm on Gabapentin and Amitriptyline. About 6 or 7 years ago I had an accident at work

Constant Back Pain - Why?
Hello All - I am hoping someone can give me some words of comfort. I was diagnosed via a lap in March 2014, and after that I was put on the mini pill and Amitriptyline. Apart from a flare up in August of that year which I think lasted about six weeks I have had no pain other than the occasional niggle

Continuing saga
Hi! I wrote on here a few months back asking advice on finding someone to look outside the box after being treated for 5 years for sero neg RA and was no further on. Got a lot of interesting feedback from people on here, thank you, so thought I'd update you and ask your opinion on a couple of other things

Amitriptyline
Hi everyone, I would appreciate some advice - what's the best time to take Amitriptyline and then what time to go to bed to get the most benefit? I've tried various combinations and can't seem to get it right, so anything that works for others I'm willing to try. Update on hyperbaric oxygen treatment

is 3 loading injections enough
for the past 10 months I have had pins and needles ( numb sensation) across the bridge of my nose and down the right side of my face. I also have severe neck pain at the back of my neck and down the right side into my shoulder. The doctor said it was sinusitis for which I have been prescribed antibiotics

My First Post!
Good Morning, This is my first post, so please be gentle with me! I suffered with what I thought was sciatica for 7yrs, numerous visits to GP over the years, he just wanted to give me meds ( I have never taken meds for anything, my view they just mask the problem ) not once in the 7yrs did he examine

What do you do to relieve your pain or take your mind off it ?
Thought it would be a good idea for anyone or everyone to share their method of pain relief and maybe some members would have good ideas to share, especially with new members. Is there anything that you helps, ease your pain in some way. Do you use pain killers, Do you use a tens Machine, Do you use

I had been taking meth? and going every month to the hospital for about 2 years having taken loads of drugs, but they seem to have side effects,so I stopped

Any suggestions for instant pain relief?
Pain is really bad today, crippling in fact! I am on regular amitriptyline 40mg for pain relief every night, today I have taken 20mg of oramorph, 1g of paracetamol and 400mg of ibuprofen and it hasn't touched it. Got a hot water bottle too! I am open to any suggestions that anyone might have? Thanks
