Doctor just put me amitriptyline, not sure if it will help with pain, also concerned about the side effects. Any advice would be great, thanks. D

Want a second opinion on diagnosis
Since last July, I've been suffering from chronic pelvic pain. I constantly have a dull ache similar to period pain and often have a burning sensation in the same as well - normally to my right hand side and it gets worse the week before, during and for a few days after my period. I get shooting pains

Broccoli hangover!
I know it sounds batty but it's true! I am so fed with being intolerant to most foods - many vegetables because of oxalates, most fruit because of fructose, fish because of salicylates, gluten because of, well, gluten, anything containing High Fructose Corn Syrup, tea coffee chocolate because of oxalates

GP Visit today
I am currently taking 150mg of levothyroxine after years of increasing slowly from 75mg. I went to see the gp who said my TSH indicates that my levo is too high and i should reduce to 125mg. My issue is that this is the best i have felt - tired but less tired weight seems to be coming off (at last)

Test Help Please
I have now got the results from my GP who wants to see me, but I can't get an appointment for a couple of weeks. I have got them printed off and would greatly appreciate some help. I think it's obvious I need to increase my Levo (on 50 ) but also take amitriptyline 30 for interstitial cystitis. I

Hydroxycarbamide and Amitriptyline
I have been taking Amitriptyline 10mg for some time for back ache. Last week I started to take Hydroxy for PV. Amitrip has a dehydrating effect which of course is not good with the hydroxy. I have a feeling that someone had posted and been prescribed an alternative to Amitrip. I have looked back

I was prescribed Amitriptyline for stomach/chest pain and for a short while it worked well enough (although I still had a little pain). My dose was increased from 10 mg to 50mg. However, the more severe pains have returned. After seeing the doctor yesterday he told me to stop taking the Amitriptyline

Amitriptyline
Hiya all, I told my rheumatologist about my RLS, and the fact it was getting unbearable, so he prescribed 10mg of Amitriptyline. I've been taking it for about 2 months now, and it has worked, no more RLS. It took a couple of weeks to kick in, and now, I am the proud owner of a pair of restful legs,

Can the pill increase pain or is it an coincidence?
Having a bad day today, bit disappointed because I seemed to be doing well. The last few months have been awful and I've had pretty much every test going (ultrasound, mri, colonoscopy) and everything didn't show anything major. I am under the pain team and have been started on Amitriptyline and Pregabalin

Advice
Boxing Day 2015 I contracted VM and was finally discharged 15th February 2016. I'm a single mum to 2 girls aged 9 & 10. At the time my mum and my local church helped me out a lot, and I'm forever grateful to them. I work in a school as a TA and I have been unable to return to work and it's now 1st April
