My "funny" hips and exercise...
Have just come back from my appointment at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore to find out the results of MRI scans on my hips and lower spine. My hips are both very unique! I was born with shortened limbs as a consequence of the drug Thalidomide. My femurs (thigh bones) are both shortened

So I’ve had IBS since I was 18, now nearly 40! Haven’t ever had it really bad, but have now had an episode since Sept last year!!!!! Have had all blood tests, cameras, medications, etc. Did the FODMAP (religiously) for 5 weeks and nothing worked. I’m now trying linseed and even decided to try out a low

HI All Just a little update, if anyone has seen my posts about my Rheumy they may remember he gave me no time and did not listen. Moving on I have seen my new Rheumy today and I was fully examined, listened to and not rushed. She agreed with the diagnosis of PRM/GCA but also thinks I have inflammatory

Getting desperate
Hello, 2 years ago, I was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease and Interstital Lung Disease. Afraid of side effects
just been given 20mg of Vimovo AND 10mg Amitriptyline while waiting for diagnosis from Rheumy. Assured its not for depression as don't have it but works on same nervous system. Blood pressure, heart rhythms etc are all mentioned in leaflet as contra indicator's. I would much rather suffer this extreme

I have just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia although it has been going on a while. I have been prescribed naproxen which doesn't seem to be doing anything & amitriptyline which has helped me to sleep but I feel groggy the next day, is this usual?

Good Endocrinologist in West Yorkshire?
Hi I attended the pain clinic today and was pleasantly surprised that the dr agreed that I have underlying issues that need sorting (low Vit D, thyroid antibodies etc., TSH not under 1) that could be causing me to feel so crappy. I spent 4 hours in A&E last night following 2 hours of palpitations which

Newbie Ruby :-)
Hi everyone, hope your all having a positive day so far :-) I am waiting for my first laparoscopy (finally) but was unsure how long people have generally waited for a first laparoscopy on the NHS? Any ideas please? Unfortunately the pain in my pelvis is chronic now and I am unable to do most things

Can anyone tell me why when I accidentally dropped a tablet into something I was eating and resulted in me chewing it, my mouth, mostly my tongue and throat started burning? My throat started to feel like it was closing, and my tongue was on fire. I tried rinsing my mouth and ice cubes on my tongue,

Have I got COPD?
I'm getting a little worried about my condition, I feel like someone is squeezing air out of my throat every time I inhale, I currently take amitriptyline which were prescribed as a muscle relaxant for my throat when modules were found on my voice box, tbh my throat has never really felt right since

Question about amitriptyline
I've been on amitriptyline 25mg for about a year now for what is believed to a nerve / muscular chronic pain issue. I decided recently to come off it just to see if I could manage without. The pain has returned, burning, tightness - more daily pain, whereas on amitriptyline I had almost pain free days

Finally went to the doctors
Hi all so again I haven’t posted in a long time the last time was a few weeks back to ask for advice. I finally after 4-5 months of feeling worse went back to the doctors today. She has given me amitriptyline and naproxen. I started the naproxen today and it helped for a few hours but I have been resting
