Painkillers giving me suicidal thoughts but doctor says nothing else they can do?
I just need a rant really. Been 4 months since my pre op and still waiting for my operation. Now this is a bit personal but I really need to share/rant. I was prescribed 6-8 tramadol a day which did not affect my pain but instead made me go a bit crazy with scary thoughts and dreams: Suicidal, hurting

Rheumatology and Endocrinology- people's experiences?.
After having no luck with any doctor at all this year, I've been referred to these two departments. I have severe pain in my hip and thigh and doctors have been arguing about what is wrong with me for the last few years and now they've come to the conclusion that one of these two will help. At this

Ovulation pain? Pain after surgery? Help!
Hi girls, I had my 4th lap 6 days ago, they found nodules on my bladder, bowel adhesions, endo on both ovaries, ligaments and as usual my left ovary was stuck to my uterus (they free it during each lap but it always sticks back). The problem is I am in a lot of what I would call my ''usual endo

Symptomatic sickle cell trait
I recently had minor surgery on my great toenails; bilateral partial avulsion. They removed the ingrown portions of both of my big toes. Had the surgery on Wednesday morning, by evening I needed tramadol for the pain. I was booked in for a routine follow up for the dressings to be change on Friday afternoon

Gout back again
Well it looks like it will be once a month that I get gout. This is the fifth month but this time I took the prednisonole early - 5mg --- and it has slowed it down. Also use Tramadol .... I am coping quite well and watching my toe hoping it wont grow into a red/purple throbbing mass! (Very seasonal -

Steriod injections in my feet
Hi, I am new to your community, I have been offered injections for my feet/ankles. Originally it was going to be scan guided, now it has been decided to do manually. At the moment I take Tramadol as I have lower back, neck and elbow arthritis too, this medicine does help. My question is, how have others

Had enough now!
Not sure how to put this but had enough now. How can anyone take this for the next 20 years or so. There seems to be no real way of controlling this awful problem. Have tried Ropinerol and Gabapentin neither work for very long. My doctors' point blank refused to go down the tramadol route as she says

Medical retirement
Hi. Well went to see occy health doctor this morning which I must admit is not a pleasant experience as it's made me realise I truly am unable to continue working and doubt I ever will. I'm 5 years away from state pension since government changed the dates. I have free bus pass. Free med and free eye

Still In constant pain 1 week on
Hello all I was just looking to hear about your own stories of having a laparoscopy and how you felt after it. I'm 1 week post op and still in absolute agony. I am taking pain killers every 4 hours and they do help but I still have to take tramadol for extra pain relief. I didn't get any sleep last night

Tramadol Withdrawal
After over 2 years on 100mg Tramadol my sleep reduced from 8 hrs day, RLS symptoms started earlier in the day and spread from legs and arms to hands as well. Rather than Tolerance I suspected Augmentation and spent 4 weeks reducing Tramadol to zero whilst building up a mild Gabapentin dose (3x100mg).

Please listen carefully if you are about to have a laparoscopy
I had a lap on Sunday and I wish someone could have gave me this advice beforehand so please if you are about to have surgery take these tips on board and don't make the same mistake I made!😩 1. Take a bowel cleanser like movicol a couple of days before your surgery and every day after. (I still haven't

Review of Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) Stimulator Trial
I began my DRG Trial Friday, December 1. It was performed as outpatient surgery. My actual time in surgery was close to two hours. I was met at Surgical Center by three female reps wearing St Jude labels. I discovered later that St Jude was purchased by Abbot Labs who probably manufacture the Stimulator

Vietnam Veteran
I'm a disabled veteran. They took my Tramadol away and put me on Gabapenton and ropinirol. This does not work for me at all. I have tried Patient Advocates. Where else can I turn.
