Tramadol is a strong painkiller only available on prescription and your doctpor will be able to advise regarding how it may affect your liver. I am not medically qualified to advise...

Yes, like most painkillers, it is mostly metabolised by the liver so using Tramadol, especially beyond the short term, can affect liver function tests, including Gamma GT.

Many medications can affect LFTs and liver function, so GPs should be monitoring patients using such drugs on a regular basis.

All the best.

Anything metabolized through the liver will. Painkillers is what almost made me kick the bucket. That was the real nasty ones with paracetamol in it. To this day, I'll never understand why they put that junk in Painkillers. Nobody, wants to take responsibility when it does cause liver damage. Mine was for a tumor inside the spinal cord, it wasn't for some sort of joke. Anyway, tramadol is better for the liver than those other Painkillers. It can still have a negative affect, best thing to do is have lab work once a month. So when it does start to affect the liver you can jump off of it. My doctor only did blood work once a year, that's what almost got me.
