My AVR TALE
Hello all. I thought I'd share my surgery story as it helped me pre-surgery to read others. I went in on Monday 20th November to St Barts and was operated on around 1:30. My last memory before being 'out' was going down to theatre (the premed must have knocked me out). According to hubby, surgery

The weather has changed and I am in so much pain!
This morning the clouds came over and because it is summer the barometer has dropped and as usual I am in horrible pain in my feet!! My lovely son massaged my feet and I jokingly said to him I wish I knew someone who sold marijuana! Here is Australia the bill has been passed for medical marijuana but

Lupus shoulder anyone?
So about 7 months ago I started to notice that the pain in my shoulder wasn’t getting better and I was starting g to struggle with some movements. I kept an eye on it and after about another month went to my gp as I thought it was an impingement. After he pulled me about the pain got significantly worse

It's finally happened
I am so relieved. I had my lap yesterday (woke up from it about 15hrs ago). I realised something must have gone on because I was called in at 10 and sedated/under by quarter past and the doctor was always adamant I wouldn't be in more than 30 mins unless she found something and she didn't think she would

Tramadol
They work for me but make me very tired. Just be careful when you want to come off them, you have to do it gradually, if you stop taking them straight away you go through a cold turkey stage, I did that the last time I was on them and I thought I was dying. So this time I'm trying to get off tramadol

Pain and drugs
Hi, I've had a lot of pain for many years and taken many drugs over this time. I've been taking Tramadol, 8 x 50mg a day for 6 years, along with Gabapentin, 3 x 600mg and Paracetamol. This doesn't remove the pain, but makes it tolerable. A couple of weeks ag, I decided after discussion with my doctor

Changing meds
I have had rls for over 20 years. As I am aging it has gotten worse. Way back on was on darvon, then sinemet, then miraplex, then requip, now gabapentin and tramadol. I had hallucinations with miraplex and requip. It does seem like trial and error.
