I have stage 4 endo and currently have a bleeding cyst caused by car crash I had about a month ago, my back pain is also horrendous.
I’ve been told that because my cyst is about 9cm big (typically between 2-4cm apparently, so my cyst is really big) it’s going to twist on me, I’ve read that if my cyst twist it can twist with my ovary am I right?
I also took my coil out on the 15th dec and I’m going through my first cycle and if I’m correct I’m due to be at peak ovulation tomorrow, can you be in pain during ovulation?
I need some quick methods of pain relieve as a bath, hot water bottle and condiene isn’t working and I’d prefer it not to go to hospital on NYE, can I take tramadol (50mg) ontop of condiene (60mg).
Thankyou for reading xx

I just read you shouldn't take them together?? I know you can take tramadol with para , ibuprofen or aspirin but not codeineor cocodamol. I've been told i can't get stinger than I'm on and I have to have my ovaries removed!!! My consultant is horrid
Thats weird, ive been doing it for about 6 months now. Although when I was in the hospital they were shocked and were reluctant to give me them at the same time, I had to convince them it doesnt make me ill or anything. Im waiting for a referral to the pain clinic to try get stronger meds, have you asked to be referred?
I haven't no hunni. My consultant is really pressuring me to have them out. She's not interested in giving me painkillers it was my gp who gave me tramadol i had more support off her than a specialist!! I'm fed up of her tbh I had an apt at the start of Dec and cancelled cos she was expecting me to book surgery xxx
I'd suggest calling 111 and ask for a doctor call back to advise on pain meds as they have your medical history. Even if it's ok for others it might not be safe for you personally eg other meds, health conditions affect what is safe individually.
Thanks guys.. I’m not going to take the tramadol with the condiene because both effect the rate of my heart rhythm and I have svt anyway, I took paracetamol with the condiene accompanied with a hot water bottle and hell of a lot of distraction and it’s kinda killed the pain.. buscopan usually helps too but I’ve ran out of them:/
Have you tried Ibuprofen 200mg - 600mg (short term, acute pain relief) ?
Did you try Epsom Salts in the bath?
Would Out-of-hours GP give you one or 2 Diazepam as muscle relaxant?
Sleep is sometimes only pain relief.
Pop a large towel in the Tumble Dryer for 5 - 10 minutes. Wrap around neck and shoulders when nice & hot. Get comfy on settee with your hot water bottle, close eyes, think of your favourite place in Summer - and relax.
Watch out for infection. I have a similar story to you. Blunt force trauma. I was actually first diagnosed with PID. Drs were convinced i had an STI but they kept coming back clear. GUM clinic run a slide and infection was found. 6 months of antibiotics. No sti. Lap confirmed stage 4 endo. When complex cysts rupture, they can cause peritonitis/PID. I had surgery to remove mine. It all come back. Even on zoladex a cyst regrew. Ive one on my left, and possibly my right side has kicked off! Anyway i started my period 2 days ago. Yesterday i was crippled. My left ovary. So much pain i was sweating. Im sure i had either an Ovarian Torsion (twisted ovary) or possibly another rupture? Nearly ended up A & E, not joking, and i hate hospitals. Im planning on seeing Dr tomorrow anyway as it seems my Endo has spread further into my abdomen. I dont get on well with hard drugs, morphine crashes my already low blood pressure, i suffer from severe chronic constipation so cant have codeine, tramadol makes me sick and strong ibuprofen (prescription strength, cant think of name) gives me stomach ulcers! Its a bummer! But if you start to feel infection'ie, fever, chills ect, get your dr to rule out infection! Good luck xx
Sorry to hear this. They won't let you keep the cyst. Hope they can remove it with keyhole surgery. Mine was touch and go at 6 cm. Depends how much is solid. Good Luck. Happy New Year! c
They won’t remove it just yet because I’ve had 2 ops within the last 5months.. theyre hoping that by the time it twists and is about to cause serious issues rather than just pain it would have completely bled out and they’ll be able to remove it with ease.. right now with this pain I would honestly just let them cut me open from hip to hip and remove everything possible aha!
Hi there. Yes the ovary can twist on itself as well as the cyst just twisting on itself. You need urgent surgery if the ovary twists as it loses its blood supply and it’s dangerous for you.
You probably need to check it’s nothing new happening if the pain has got much worse or different.
I thought tramadol was a weak opioid so in a way it’s a weak codeine. So rather than add in tramadol it’s logical to take more codeine. Can you Increase the codeine you are taking or is it in a tablet combined with paracetamol? If it’s in its own just increase the amount of codeine you are taking and that would be better than more Tramadol . How are you getting on a day after you posted?
Hii, I’m due to go to the doctors today for an internal scan as my consultant won’t do it until our appointment date on the 15th (I genuinely can’t wait that long) my doc said he may have to send me to hospital but because I don’t want to go he’ll just check that everything’s okay first.
He’s changing my meds back to oramorph.
I’m also changing consultants to a n actual endo one because I didn’t actually realise there were actual specialists I just thought they were gynae consultants so hopefully after this doctors trip I should actually be getting somewhere.
The pain has been worse and everyday but because I haven’t had a temperature or any new symptoms other than pain my consultant said it’s normal and there’s nothing wrong with me.
O never thought I could up my dose of condiene because of people getting addicted so easily so I’ll keep that in mind for the future.
