Hi. I need some help to wake up in the morning. I can fall asleep easily and quickly sometimes to quickly and spill my cup of tea I am drinking
But in the mornings I have real problems with waking up. I know that it is probably the after effects of the drugs that I am on which are numerous but the main one's are
Fentanyl 75mg
Gabapentin300mg x 2
Venlafaxine 75mg x2
Mirtazapine 30mg x 1
Paracetamol x 2
Tramadol 50mg as needed for break through pain
Naproxen 500mg x 1 again for break through pain
Plus hrt, Buscapan, omeprazole, magnesium
In the mornings the same again except for the Mirtazapine, but I take amiodipine 10mg and I try to take these when my hubby who is a postie gets up. I have a radio alarm that goes off at 8am my phone at 8.30am and then another alarm across the room so that I have to get out of bed to switch it off at 9 am.
I generally go to sleep between midnight and 1 am but on some nights I can't sleep usually on the nights when I have first put my patches on or the pain keeps me awake.
But then what happens is that I sit on the edge of the bed and checking my emails catching up on things on my tablet and I will fall asleep and wake up when I hear the thud of my tablet landing on the floor. This can last anything up to 3 hours before I can stay awake enough to have a shower.
I am fed up with losing half of the day like this. Has anyone got some ideas.
I have tried leaving the curtains open drinking strong black coffee, drinking water, splashing my face with cold water, body shop total energy cream, tisserand energy pulse point,
Thanks in advance for your help

I wrote YOU a nice, long email- and lost it! TWO MAIN POINTS.
"SONIC BOMB", ALARM CLOCK! (I got mine from HSN (home shopping network.) UGLY, BLACK AND RED, ELECTRIC CLOCK. TWO ALARM settings, WITH VOLUME AND TONE CONTROL. ( SAME DECIBEL AS A CHAIN SAW!!)
Similar battery operated ones for truck drivers, or in motel room if you travel... Check ONLINE trucker supplies, citizen band radio supply, etc.
It has a BED SHAKER, FOR UNDER Mattress or Pillow. I put that in an old BRASS POT across the room. WOW! IS THAT LOUD?! OR JUST LAY BED SHAKER ON TOP OF WOODEN DRESSER TOP, IT WILL VIBRATE AND GET YOU UP! OR PUT IN EMPTY METAL PAN OR TRASH CAN, TO INCREASE AND ECHO THE sound.
I TAKE TWO, 200mg MODOFINIL each morning. ONE OF MANY GENERICS FOR PROVIGIL, FOR DAY TIME SLEEPINESS. (PILOTS WITH JET LAG, SHIFT WORKERS, AND DAYTIME SLEEPINESS, ETC.)
PUT ALARM ACROSS THE ROOM, SO YOU HAVE TO GET UP! DO NOT SET TWO ALARMS. GET UP THE FIRST TIME. YOU TRAIN YOUR BODY TO GO BACK TO SLEEP, WITH THAT HALF HOUR " SNOOZE"
WALK AROUND OR STAND AND LOOK OUT THE WINDOW WHILE YOU DRINK YOUR COFFEE OR TEA AND WAIT FOR MEDS TO WORK. A. YOU WON'T FALL ASLEEP AND SPILL ON YOURSELF.
B. Bright light EARLY, helps reset your CIRCAIDIAN RYTHYM!
I HAVE PAIN AND INSOMNIA, with the insomnia MADE WORSE BY THE PAIN.
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, AND THE BEST THE NEW YEAR HAS TO OFFER,
CINDY
PS. EXCUSE THE CAPS, I AM LOSING MY VISION, NOT YELLING.
Try taking your evening medications earlier so that you go to sleep earlier. Then in the morning they will have worn off more. Also a clock/ lamp that mimics sunrise can help some people. Have coffee in a flask to drink in bed before you get up. Sorry can't do any more at the moment
