Eye problems following catheter ablation
I am now 10 weeks post catheter ablation.Following the procedure I developed aura migraines daily for around 10 days. The fact sheets explained that this was a possible complication and should rectify itself, which it did and 🤞 I have not had any migraines since. I have now developed a bloodshot patch

Core Biopsy done today
Core biopsy done which allows for more tissue to be sampled compared to just aspiration. They took 4 specimens from the largest brightest node in my neck today to check for Richters. If it comes back inconclusive, I will insist on an excisional biopsy, but from what I was told today, that would be more

Agony and morphine?
Afternoon all, Hope you're all as well as can be, sorry but you've all been so supportive I thought I'd write here again with my ongoing issues. If you have seen my previous post you will know the last month or so I've had sickness and migraine followed by a staph infection then finally mottled skin

Terminal ileitis
My colonoscopy found mild inflammation in the TI area which they said looked like Terminal Ileitis. Biopsies were taken but they came back normal. I haven't discussed the results with my consultant yet as I had to give in a stool sample to check the calprotectin level first. It looks like it isn't Crohn's

Reducing steroids and adrenal symptoms
I’ve recently experienced symptoms which made me think of Pred-induced diabetes. In particular, my metabolism does not seem to adjust properly to food, with post-prandial dips and especially waking up at 3-4am with uncomfortable overheating. But my HbA1c measurement remains around 41, which is just

synacthen test
I’m to have a synacthen test next week. I am taking 5 mg of prednisolone daily and have been told to stop the pred 3days before the test. Will this be ok. As have been told never to stop steroids suddenly ?

Tested positive for Anti Mi2, ANA 360 and had rashes across my neck, shoulders, eyebrows, behind ears and side of head since October. have had 12 weeks of steroids which finished and not now on any meds. My question is does your dm go in cycles? I feel like I have

Another BFN with a top grade blastocyst …
Our first transfer ended in a BFN, second in a MMC and third in another BFN. The eggs were all AA and lining described as perfect each time. I feel like we threw everything at this cycle - probiotics, extra progesterone, Intralipids, steroids, clexane too. Feeling totally deflated and wondering if it

T3 starting dose too high?
Hi all, looking for some advice. Have had hashi's for 3 years and my GP has had me undermedicated for all of that time (25mg Levo rising to 50mg after about 1. years and only 7 weeks ago he allowed me to increase to 75mg at weekends and 50mg during the week). My results in February were: FT4: 14.6

anyone living with a single figure count without treatment?
Hi everyone I’ve had ITP for 12 years and it has been controlled well by short courses of steroids which were giving me one to two years of remission. Recently following a bout of Covid, the steroids have not been working as well and I was persuaded to try Avatrombopag. After 5 months of trying and

Teva being issued in Hillcross boxes!
Has anyone noticed that Levothyroxine by Teva is being sent in boxes marketed by Hillcross. I’m really annoyed about this as I specifically said to the pharmacist that I can only tolerate Mercury Pharma brand. He said he would source them. He couldn’t, but suggested Accord. I said I’d check the PILs

Long term predisolone
Hi All I’d really interested in hearing from anyone who has been told they’ll be on predisolone for good. I’ve been on it for 13 years, varying doses but never got off it. I was on mycophenloate and then rituximab but have been advised that just steroids will be my recommended medication to control

Pneumocystis pneumonia - PCP
I am just making people aware of the above. This is fungi that in a healthy person would resolve in days. However, in immunosuppressed it can be fatal. I have never heard of this before. Because of taking immune surpression, this fungi has knocked me off my feet. I have been admitted to hospital, now

Mycophenolate Mofetil Anyone?
I saw a different Rheumatologist in the clinic recently. He appeared satisfied that I was on long term 5.5 Prednisolone (I had previously run into trouble at 5mg) but his follow up letter indicated a plan to offer me Mycophenolate Mofetil as a DMARD to get me off steroids. Has anyone had experience of

Difficulty in reducing steroid dose
Thank you to the many people who provided help about my difficulty in taking plain pred, I have now managed to take the coated pred. If I took it in the day, I got some reflux into the stomach and pain about 3 hours later but I am now taking it at about 3 am and then I take some Esomeprazole before

Update on appointment re Low TSH
The Endo was very compassionate and understanding, spent a long time with me (35minutes +) going through absolutely everything, listened to all the information I had ( thank you team!) and everything I wanted to ask etc. Initially she suggested lowering my Levothyroxine (no surprise there), but agreed

Increasing dose again
Feeling disappointed as have followed DL slow taper advice, down to 3 mg of Prednisalone stuck to that dose for last 4 weeks but pain in hips and shoulders getting increasingly worse, it's an effort to walk very far. Decided today that the sensible thing was to follow advice and increase by 5mg for 7
