Getting Off of Painkillers
I started seeing a pain management doctor about 4 years ago for severe lower back pain. One of the first things she did was put me on 5 mg Hydrocodone four times a day and gave me a steroid injection. Over the years, I have had several radio frequency ablations and a handful of steroid injections. The

Drowning in mucous !
Is there anything you lovely members can suggest to help reduce the amount of mucous I am producing? I have just done 7 days of Doxycycline (7 days more to take) and 5 days of steroids and the mucous just wont stop. I can feel it gurgling when I breathe in. I am able to cough it up easily enough but

Feel dreadful after AFib episode
Afew months ago I posted about the way I feel after ab AFib episodes and received many answers which were helpful but am unable to find them now. A few days ago I saw my Cardiologist and told him that I was getting into a situation with AFib where I feared having an episode because of how it left me

how long does it take Bronchiestasis sufferers to get over an infection
hi, I don’t post very often as I feel there are people suffering a lot more than I do, but Over 2 months ago I had an exacerbation of my Bronchiestasis, took my usual rescue pack antibiotics for 2 weeks plus 5 days steroids, it didn’t clear so had another 2 weeks antibiotics & steroids, which did

New to this forum, so glad to have found it, I was beginning to despair with my GP who explains nothing to me. Shocked to learn how badly thyroid conditions are treated in UK. Began losing my eyebrows 2 years ago and my diverticulitis began flaring up after years of being stable. Various ultrasound

hi everyone have finally got my steroid injection after 9 weeks. Then this morning hospital called me and said they have an echocardiogram app. on the same day. The echocardiogram is at 8.00am and then my steroid injection is at 1.30pm. Will it be ok to have them both done on the same day. Thanks

Is a massage ok with PMR etc?
I have PMR (on 5mg currently) and also have pain on walking caused by spinal stenosis/ degeneration of lumbar spine and left hip etc. I also had a steroid injection a while back for bursitis in my right hip. My daughter would like to give me a massage as a Mothers’s Day gift and I’d love to have one

Prednisone to Hydrocortisone
My last visit to my rheumatologist she recommended I see an endocrinologist because my most recent Dexa scan (2022) hadn’t improved from my last one (2020). My Dexa scans say osteopenia but my rheumatologist looks at the reports and there’s some other formula that brings me into osteoporosis. So she

Recap on Intense pain post
I’ve had a CT in Fall of 2019 indicating a couple of bulging discs. Spinal stenosis, s curve scoliosis. I’ve tried chiropractic treatments as well as acupuncture, acupressure and meditate several times a day. I’ve been cautioned by my primary care physician who has a DO ( osteopathic medical degree).

Travel
Morning all, hope you can help me , I'm travelling to Kenya in November I've just seen on the government website that if your taking steroids ie prednisolone you maynot be able to have the yellow fever vaccination. Is this correct has anyone travelled to Kenya with this issue. I'm taking 6mg a day .

VERTEBROPLASTY OP WENT FINE - SO FAR, SO GOOD
I did not have the luxury of asking anesthesiologist about Pred dose as there wasn't one present. I was awake for the entire procedure and op nurse administered an opioid and a medication when I requested it. Very relaxed but not "high". Also an antibiotic was included and I now have the same one at

Rituximab adverse reaction to pre-meds
Hi I have Vasculitis GPA I have my fourth dose of rituximab coming up in a few weeks. I seem to have a reaction to the pre-meds they give prior to the rituximab infusion. One of the pre-med drugs I believe to be a steroid of some description. The history so far... Dose 1 - I was in hospital and
