thank you
Thank you to everyone for their support and responses. I feel now I am making the right choice to stay on steroids as my improvement has been so positive. I am going to cancel my next appointment with the rheumatologist as he leaves me with doubts and no answers and he did say he was going to refer me

Hip replacement
Hello I think I have to have a hip replacement. I find it hard with polymyalgia to move my legs without stiffness even with the steroids. So I'm wondering if anyone has had a new hip whilst suffering and how it affects recovery with exercises? Any advice welcome. Thanks

Feeling poorly

I sometimes wake up with sweat around my neck and chest. The steroid injection I had 13 days ago helped a bit to decrease the intensity of pain but it hasn

what next?
I was diagnosed with PMR five years ago and my gp kept me on Prednisolone for two years which resulted in a catalogue of side effects including glaucoma and cataracts. My diagnosis was confirmed as RA shortly after. I have been taking methotrexate successfully since. However my condition has worsened

confused
I had my second appointment with the rheumatologist and left feeling confused. I’ve been taking 20mg prednisolone for two weeks and the improvement has been amazing. I no longer waddle when I walk and I’m not being kept awake every time I move in bed. I can reach up to open a window when I wake up and

Hair loss- PMR- Prednisolone
A while back my hair was coming out quite a lot, I was wearing it long but had it cut which seemed to help quite a bit, but now it has started to get worse again. Is this due to steroids or PMR? Does anyone have the same experience? I find it quite distressing to have so much coming out every time I

Sore Throat
I’m currently down to 4mg of prednisolone and have a constant sore throat and dry mouth during the night . Is this normal ? What can I do to relieve the soreness and will it eventually improve as I reduce my steroids?

PMR symptoms after steroid injection 12 days ago
Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas .🎄 I posted just before Christmas about awful shoulder and neck pain and that I saw a private doctor who thinks my symptoms are PMR. He gave me a steroid injection. It has helped dampen down the pain. It was excruciating but has since

steroid injection
Hi everyone Happy New Year to you all. Can anyone answer my question if it's safe to have a steroid injection for frozen shoulder if you have open angle glaucoma? Don't know what to do. Many thanks in advance.

steroid injection for back pain with pain team?
hello, I have had back pain for as long as I remember however 3 years ago was the first episode of severe spasm in my whole back making me collapse and couldn’t be moved for hours. I was put on gabapentin for 2.5 years which I have tapered off because I’m not sure the problem was nerve pain and the mri

Happening all over again
So BFP on Monday, bright red bleeding with little clots today, so looking very much like I’m headed for my third miscarriage. They have all been about 5-7 weeks. I’ve had ERA tests etc, hysteroscopy, blood test for miscarriage. I am on steroids, aspirin, clexane, Prolutex and utrogestan. What is wrong

Fed up with meds
Anyone else just fed up with their meds? Diagnosed with MCTD and inflammatory arthritis in 2020. Steroids were amazing but obviously can't stay on them and I think they affected my blood sugar. Methotrexate made my hair fallout. Now on mycophenolate which keeps causing my wcc to drop. I am still taking

Newly diagnosed
Hi All, I've just joined this group looking to educate myself following a recent 2nd positive lupus test. I am waiting for a pheumatology appointment but no idea when that is going to happen so a bit concerned I am losing time on getting a plan in place. 30 years ago I tested positive for Anti Phospholipid

Lansoprazole - reducing dose
Hi I have been on lansprazole 30mg since starting steroids 3 years ago. I am now down to 2mg steroids and want to reduce ppi as I have started having problems with digestion ( I think mainly fats) and diarrhoea some days, so I am losing too much weight, as I'm not eating properly. Has anyone else had

Queasiness from Ozempic
As a result of taking steroids for PMR, my prediabetes became diabetes. After that and vacations where I overdid it, my A1c. soared to 8. Doc put me on Ozempic. If this chain of events has occurred to anyone else, how do you deal with the nausea? I get sick to my stomach every time I eat. I have
