Medications that reduce an overactive bladder
Since I've been on prednisolone my trips to the loo during the night have increased tremendously. I'm not sure if this is due to waking frequently and my body thinking that it's time for the morning loo trip but it seems that whenever I lie down for any period of time it starts up, even if I lie on

Exercise
Having just started on steroids 2 weeks ago, I have been wondering about exercise in helping recovery. Any recommendations on how much to do?What type of exercise has helped you? Do you have a daily routine?

GCA relapse
I am currently having a bad GCA relapse and have put my steroids up from 3.5 to 7.5 mg. What always surprises me is that if I have a hot bath, one where I am fully immersed, I miraculously get so much better straight away. - an effect which often lasts until the morning. Does anyone else get the same

GCA and respiratory issues?
Hi everyone. I updated my profile to include my most recent flare/infection, but wanted to briefly share that info. with others who may experience respiratory issues with GCA. I had another bad "flare" that began on Feb. 4th at the end of a two week cruise. Again started with a sore throat, then respiratory

Hello Everybody, I had a DEXA scan in 2020, as far as I can see the only worrying result was the neck of femur -2.7. I have just had another DEXA scan on a different machine, and the same result was -2.9. To me, that is not a great difference, having been on steroids for 2 1/2 years. I now have been

Steroid Injection
I have had right shoulder pain for weeks. The pain starts in my shoulder and then across my upper back. I have had it over the years but this time it’s been really bad. With all the problems trying to see a doctor I have just been taking co-codamol. In the end with the pain and not sleeping I managed

Has anyone used supplements to compliment medical treatment for PMR? I am considering Evening Primrose Oil alongside steroids.

Anyone on biologics and suffering leg ulcers
hi, so last July I injured my ankle when the spike from a tool I use on the allotment, spiked my ankle. Due to being on steroids and antiplatelets, as well as Benepali and MTX, the skin tear didn’t reattach. I now have a leg ulcer, as well as another on my shin, caused by my nail ripping my skin, when

Dr appt updates
Saw my pulmonologist on Tues. “Why haven’t you been using your Cpap?” Me: “Sometimes I feel claustrophobic and it’s hard to breathe. I also have had shortness of breath since I had Covid last June after coming home from our trip.” This led her to have me do a 6 minute walking test - my oxygen didn’t

Visit to Rheumatologist.
Today I had my 6monthly appointment with my new rheumatologist Dr. Coath at Southend Hospital (I was seeing Prof Dasgupta but he's now retired from his NHS practice) It's my second appointment with Dr. Coath and how refreshing and reassuring it was to speak to a medical professional who genuinely seems

Adrenals are working!
I had a ACTH Stimulation Test this morning and just got the results back from my Endo. She said even better than she expected. So now I can start tapering off of hydrocortisone at 1/2 tablet weekly. Currently I am on two 5mg tablets in morning and Two 5mg tablets in evening. It seems a bit fast but

AIH and Azathioprine
Hola, my compromised amigos! About to start Aza for AIH - I know we're all individuals but anyone here have experience of this drug? Not thrilled about it, especially as steroids seem to be bringing my levels down just fine, but the consultant is a good 'un so I'm trusting I'm going on it for a reason

Help please for daughter abroad
I am posting on behalf of my daughter who lives and works in N Cyprus . I hope that is alright. She is 54. Around Christmas she started to get diarrhoea frequently. She was here for week in February and seemed not too bad. However the diarrhoea persisted and got more frequent so she went to see a doctor

Hi everyone, I am cautiously very excited having just had a very positive 11+4 scan - baby looking lovely today and I'm almost starting to get excited 😍 My clinic in Spain is talking now about weaning me off the drugs - I'm on 10mg prednisone and they want me to move down to 5mg tomorrow and then take

PMR and CLL
Hello Experts on the Forum, it's been a while since I posted. I was originally diagnosed with PMR in March 2021 after a year of fatigue, pain and immobility. Started on the Pred (the devil's tic-tac as a friend aptly calls it😊) - 20 mg and within 3 days felt like I was back to where I was 18 months
