Dermatomyositis - is it cyclical?

I’m still awaiting formal diagnosis. Tested positive for Anti Mi2, ANA 360 and had rashes across my neck, shoulders, eyebrows, behind ears and side of head since October.

have had 12 weeks of steroids which finished and not now on any meds.

My question is does your dm go in cycles? I feel like I have 2 ‘normal’ days, then the rash comes back, I get upset stomach, feel like I have flu, then the muscles start to feel weak and wobbly in my legs especially and the joints on my fingers hurt. This lasts about 5/6 days then one morning I wake up and it’s better so the cycle starts again…

is this typical for DM?

most auto immune diseases are cyclic in nature but your cycle seem short
