My colonoscopy found mild inflammation in the TI area which they said looked like Terminal Ileitis. Biopsies were taken but they came back normal. I haven't discussed the results with my consultant yet as I had to give in a stool sample to check the calprotectin level first. It looks like it isn't Crohn's TI, so my question iis how was everyone's ileitis treated (non Crohn's related)? My consultant did mention steroids to treat the inflammation during my last appointment but that was before I had the colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy. I've had my gallbladder out three years ago and my consultant said it could Bile Acid Malabsorption too. I won't be having a sehcat test as apparently I've been told that they can prescribe binders and if they work then it means you have BAM.
Thank you did reading.

I have BAM after gallbladder surgery (I also have ulcerative colitis) my calprotectin and inflammation markers are often slightly raised but I take Colestyramine which is an acid binder and it does help with symptoms.
Hi, Bantam12. Thank you for replying. I think we have crossed paths before on one of my previous paths. My consultant did mention starting a trial of Colveslam. This was before the terminal ileitis diagnosis which looks to be non Crohn's related. Ulcers were seen in the area during a capsule endoscopy. Were you diagnosed with UC before or after gallbladder removal surgery?
I’ve had UC since I was a teenager, wasn’t formally diagnosed until I was mid forties, once on meds I’ve been relatively ok. Gallbladder surgery was about 3 years ago so well after UC diagnosis as I’m now late 60 s.
