Anybody complained about GP?
Tried to get a rescue pack of steroids - rang 111 and had it sent through to my pharmacy.Told I couldn't have them without an appointment which is next week - this is despite me having a steroid emergency card and my GP having a copy of my asthma action plan. I have eosiniphilic asthma and I am currently

I was on Prednisolone from October 2021 until a week ago. Reducing dose, 1 mg a day for the last month. For 2 months I have had very painful shoulders and my legs are very stiff and achy especially right at the top. If I sit for any length of time I am very stiff and can hardly walk. The pain is

Week 5 completed…and all is right with the World.
Well, what a glorious week …Spring like. Sun shining, birds singing their Spring songs and the very first Spring flowers popping their heads above frosted soil. These are what my Grandad called ‘borrowed days’ for as sure as eggs we will pay them back, with interest, before the real Spring arrives

MS Hug
I don't know if this is a MS Hug or not but I feel like I have a band around my ribs that is squeezing me. I have hurt all the way through from my back to my chest. I also have tenderness in my abdomen. I have just finished a round of steroids because of a flare caused by COVID and a secondary infection

Covid action plan, antivirals, steroids etc
Hi all -- I apologize for the frequent posts recently. May I ask whether your GP/Consultant gave you a covid action plan, or if this is available online? I.e. what to do in different scenarios, when (and whom) to ask for antivirals, when to start taking high steroids etc? Several of my colleagues

Controlling PMR with diet
Does anyone have info on trying to control PMR with diet? I am newly diagnosed but before taking the decision to use steroids (which freaks me out after reading some of the experiences people have had on here) I’d like to see if I can reduce my inflammation and symptoms by tweaking my diet and using

Hello everyone. As I have shared before my husband has a mets tumor on his spine at T9 around the front and some soft tissue was involved. He completed 5 treatments of radiation. He started lupron one week ago. He was in so much pain for a month. MO and the neurosurgeon treated him with several rounds

EGPA Diagnosis today
Hi I'm a 24 M and have been diagnosed with EGPA today after 2 weeks in hospital. Started with shortness of breath and arm pain, got bought in for a Active TB looking lung from Xray and high Esophilias in blood. Kidney health was deteriorating so idea was to put me on Steroids ASAP prior to diagnosis

38 weeks planned c section - Steroid injection?
I’m currently 34+1 with our IVF miracle and having a planned c section at 38 weeks (had complicated emergency c section with first child) but they’ve said they offer an optional steroid injection if you deliver planned before 39 weeks which can apparently help with breathing for baby IF they have fluid

Steroids and Ibuprofen
I am currently on 7mg pred for PMR. I am also suffering from a trapped nerve in my back which I have had for six weeks now which has been VERY painful. My doctor has said under no circumstances to take any medication containing ibuprofen because of my steroids. Paracetomol does nothing to relieve

In need of Reassurance
Hello to all you lovely hearties out there. My dad is a fellow hearty and has dilated cardiomyopathy, like myself but his symptoms manifest differently to my own and he additionally has a leaky mitral valve (has had it for many years - since before I was born). Before his diagnosis of cardiomyopathy

Arthritis, PMR or both.
I’ve been on this journey for nearly 3 years and am down to 1.5mg pred. I still get shoulder pain but it manifests in a different way to when I first got PMR. I had shoulder problems for some years before I got PMR. I found it difficult to tie up my blood parameters, which were fine, with the shoulder

Does anyone have any insight on how or if V +O treatment affects insulin sensitivity?
My husband is on V+O treatment, on cycle 7, he also is type 2 diabetic. Ever since starting treatment, he has had to add fast-acting insulin after meals to his regimen. We attributed this to the steroids given during O infusions, but those are now in the past, and he is not able to reduce his A1C and

Private IVF clinics Manchester / Best clinic abroad
Hi.. I’ve been off this site for a while struggling with my mood after my most recent miscarriage in October. I’ve had 3 rounds of ivf on the nhs, I feel like St Mary’s wasted my 3rd round. My consultant has now moved abroad. It’s time to give up on the nhs and go private. Does anybody have any experience
