hi there, I’ve unfortunately had 5 miscarriages (mix of IVF and natural), mostly chemical pregnancies. In between the miscarriages I was diagnosed with Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) which is a leading cause of recurrent miscarriages.
The haematologists put me on daily Clexane injections and low dose aspirin (150mg) for my last two pregnancies, which still failed. Does anyone with APS or similar blood clotting disorders have a success story or can share what medications they were on? I saw online that steroids can also be prescribed. I have a consultation with my doctor next week so was hoping for more information to prepare beforehand. Many thanks

I have APS also, recently diagnosed. Are you on Clexane twice a day? I see about 50% of ladies seem to be put on it once a day and about 50% twice a day, depending on the doctor, some only like to do twice a day if there has been a clot previously, but it might be worth trying!
My doctor also uses prednisone, hydroxychloroquine and IVIG for APS, as APS is actually an autoimmune disease. Therefore he uses these treat the immune system to prevent it all from happening in the beginning if you know what I mean. Hopefully you can get some answers from your doctor. Xx
hi there, thanks so much for your response. I was on Clexane 40mg once per day. When you say twice a day is it 20mg x 2 or 40mg x 2?
That’s interesting, thanks for sharing what your doctor uses. Will definitely bring this up with mine next week. Thanks again and all the best to you xx
I have aps too. I had 3 miscarriages as well. Was on clexane once a day and also baby aspirin once a day for my last one. This was successful and I have my three month old sleeping on my lap now.
