Covid Antiviral eligibility

Positive covid test at 7pm Thursday and received antivirals at 5pm Friday! Well done NHS! Especially on a Bank Holiday!

Wasn't sure if I was eligible this time as I'm only on 5mg Pred, having stopped my Methotrexate in November, but the lady who phoned me from the Covid Medicines Department said I was eligible as I'd been on steroids so long (7 years) and had only 'recently' stopped the MTX.

They're making a difference already 🙂

PS: When I'm up and well enough I must label home made meals in freezer.... I know what they are but hubby doesn't... I suggested last night that he could have the creamy honey and mustard chicken for this evening's meal. He's just found out he's defrosted a tub of apple sauce. Oops.

Could you ask who you rang to get the antivirals? When I had covid, I rang 111 and had a right run-around.

But yes, Paxlovid is very effective. I hope you're not finding the tast too bad!

I rang 111 and the GP who rang me back said he thought I was eligible but passed my case to my local hospital Covid Medicines Department (who he said had the final decision). They rang me a few hours later and the rest is history.I've finished them now, and feel much better, but still coughing and have dreadful earache and no appetite 😕 Completely different to last bout last year.
