New GCA treatment
Question: I know
steroids
can improve PMR fast and is a final confirmation in diagnosis. Is the effect similar for GCA or would the
steroids
ease my symptoms if caused by something else?

Itchy eye 3 months post Trabeculectomy
Last week I has a loose stitch removed after they put me back on
steroids
for 3 days. Even before that I started to experience sudden very itchy eye just around spot where the bleb is, also on the skin above it below my eyebrows.

Mood and sleep disturbance on longterm steroids- useful article, page 1
I had no idea that
steroids
can make it hard to regulate mood and feel motivated. A psychologist specialising in the area explains how this happens and suggests ways we might be able to counter those effects.

Terminal ileitis
My consultant did mention
steroids
to treat the inflammation during my last appointment but that was before I had the colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy. I've had my gallbladder out three years ago and my consultant said it could Bile Acid Malabsorption too.

PMR and severe neck spasms
The GP has considered after discussion with a rheumatologist and registrar, that the neck pain may not be related to PMR but responded to the
steroids
as many conditions do. He now has prescribed Amytryptyline 25mg... I am very wary of starting with another anti depressant, be it lower dose.

slightly anxious and just looking for moral support
Also have my first rheumatology appointment 5th January and am anxious as I keep reading they try to get you off
steroids
quickly. I’m stuck at 5mg as each time I reduce I flare.

stopped Pred but pain & stiffness came in knees. GP says it isn’t PMR
Wants me off

sharpish. What do others think? Is knee and hand pain usual in PMR?

Has my PMR Gone?
I'd love to think that I will feel well again when I get of the
steroids
and have had the hip operation, it's what keeps me going.

Hashimotos & IVF
Hashimotos) I have an appointment with an Endocrine Consultant later this month, and due to start IVF the following month I am now worried that the thyroid antibodies may destroy my embryo when I have my IVF transfer - there’s research that shows it may stop it from working - should I be on

I’ve never had a course of

before where it hasn’t made me completely better. Have others had this experience please?

inflammation on hydroxychloroquine and 5mg of prednisolone
The other part that has me confused is that originally when I was on no medication my ANA was a weak positive and after having it tested again in February this year (5months into hydroxychloroquine and
steroids
) it has come back negative.

Vitamin K2
I take methotrexate,
steroids
and other meds so I don’t want the strongest K2 but one I can absorb without a problem. I have been on risedronate for two years but dexa scan had not improved. I try and walk a little and have stairs in house. Thank you. J

Started bleeding with BMs again.
Got admitted 3 days in hospital for dehydration and IV
steroids
. Quickly returning my condition around and discharged on prednisolone tablets. Which I've been advised to slowly taper . Starting 30mg and reducing by 5 mg every week.

dizziness and weaknesd
I’m currently having a weekly injection of tocilizumab and 10mg
steroids
. My PMR feels under control but I’m feeling intense dizziness with any activity and a weakness especially noticeable in my arms, something I never felt before. Is this just part of the recovery after being so unwell ?
