Hi, is it possible/advisable to take both oral steroids and local injection steroid at the same time?

Put on steroids 7 day, 40mg. No effect so repeated 40mg for 7 days then a reduction of 5 mg every 3 days. 2 days after this finished symptoms flared again,breathless wheezing etc. Ended up in hospital. More steroids this time reducing from 40mg every 5 days.

does anyone else now only get a pack with 28 not 30 to cover the 6 tablets for 5 days? pharmacy says 28 is good enough dont need 30.

Hi all I received Health Unlocked posts for a long time then it disappeared! I really miss the stories. I've been struggling with blood sugars up to 42 twice so now on a v low sugar & carbs diet!! Each time affected my feet! No pain just part numb. I'm on 3mg to 2.5mg DSM. Thankyou. Take care everyone

Stuttering on Steroids Hi fellow steroiders I am now into my 6 month of my journey. For the last 5 weeks tapering from 8mg to 71/2.

Think I read on here that steroids can vary in their effectiveness from 12 to 36 hours. I wondered as my pains tend to return late evening if the steroids for me tend to only to be effective for 12 or so hours.

Sorry to post twice so soon just wanted to also ask about heartburn which I’m beginning to suffer from again. A few months ago my doctor put me on Lansoprazol, unfortunately I reacted really badly to these so stopped and tried to alter diet to help. However in last few days the heartburn has come back

2 Queries - can anyone point me towards the science of how steroids contributes towards osteoporosis ? And the 2nd is , are there any studies re use of steroids below 7.5mg and impact on osteoporosis.

Hi all, just been diagnosed with PMR and been taking 15mg of steroids for less than a week. The steroids have not made much difference. Has anyone got any advise please? Regards Brian

I’m now feeling better on steroids - waiting to see Consultant and scan . Just wondering can I reduce the steroids now I’m feeling better?

when taking 4mg methylprednisolone, if there are no current signs of fatigue or other bothersome symptoms. Does this mean adrenals are working on their own?

I'm back again folks! ....this morning extremely breathless ...very jittery , oxygen levels around 93. Started the Prednisone ...took the clarithomycin and Metronidazole... feeling pretty grotty to be honest. Have started to cough up some mucus... Not much ,but thick and coloured. Do I just persevere

Hi ve been prescribed steroids for 3 weeks after my GP suspected GCA. I’ve now had my scan and consultant has stated it’s unlikely. He’s told me to stop steroids immediately and I’m concerned that this is going to bring my symptoms and also be unsafe. Any thoughts would be appreciated

does the prednisolone just treat the symptoms or does it actually cure or put the PMR into remission?

I even had the option to start steroids. I am totally lost and don’t know what to do. Should I start treatment or wait and focus on diet and go the steroids route with that? I don’t know who to talk to about all this so any help will be greatly appreciated.

hi , haven’t posted for a while. I have now after 2 years come down to 2 and a half milligrams per day having slowly reduced from 50 milligrams per day and I have found my rheumatoid arthritis is now getting worse especially in my hands. My rheumatologist has suggested I reduce only by half a milligram

Hi I’ve now finished steroids as Consultant stated he thought it was unlikely I had GCA . My scan was negative and I had been on steroids for 2 weeks so question this. My symptoms have now returned and my GP wants to put me on Naproxen.

They’ve suggested intralipids and steroids. I don’t mind the look of the intralipids but I really don’t want to take the steroids - I have done abit of reading and I’m worried about the possible impact on the developing baby of these (I’m a massive worrier so i just think I’d end up worrying??)

I have started taking 5 mg Prednisolone (up from 2.5mg because if increased pain) at 2 or 3am as suggested by a post on here but by 1pm I am in pain again in my shoulders/top of arms and need to take pain killers . Any suggestion please.

is there any advice on cutting down steroids from 5mg? I’ve gone from 15-5 ok so far.
