Taking steroids

Initially when he was started on steroids (20mg) the pain and stiffness reduced significantly and he was able to resume his daily walks in a local park. As advised he dropped to 17.5mg after a couple of weeks and then to 15mg and 15.5mg.

Steroids & Purpura?

Hi there, I'm concerned about my forearms bruising when I lift or knock them, they look unsightly, I have had blood tests and gp said they came back OK. My bronchiectasis doctor says he thinks it may be caused by inhaled beclomethasone, and the nurse said it could be from antibiotics, it would be good

Epilepsy and Steroids

While reading the site last night I came upon a post regarding the compatibility of anticonvulsants and steroids. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 15, I'm 81 now. I'd had grand mal and petit mal seizures.

reducing oral steroids

I was looking for advice and other people's comments on reducing oral steroids. Not getting much help from GP due to being unable to make an appointment at the current time, which is frustrating but I'm doing my best to reduce stress!!

Steroids and itching

It’s me back on here again! Since my diagnosis of PMR 2 years ago (starting at 15mg of Pred and now down to 5), for the last few months I’ve suffered so badly with severely itchy skin which is really dragging me down. When I get to speak to my GP I’m going to insist on a referral to a dermatologist &

Advice on steroid use

What I can't understand is if steroids are supposed to stop inflammation why are they making it worse for me. The rheumatologist was adamant that people are increasing their steroids because of flare ups but it could be an inflammation issue because of the steroids.
