Hello, I’m in my 12th week post op, everything went well, my eye is healed with stable pressure of 8. Last week I has a loose stitch removed after they put me back on steroids for 3 days. Even before that I started to experience sudden very itchy eye just around spot where the bleb is, also on the skin above it below my eyebrows. There is no signs of infection or anything and my doctor did a detailed exam and said everything looks good. Also I sometimes feel like the bleb gets bigger and it raises my eyelid a little bit.
Strange sensations so just wondering has anyone experienced something like this?Could it be just dry eye? Of course I don’t touch or rub my eye ever.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated,
Thank you

Hello. Good to hear that you have had this checked out. It could just be mild irritation/dry eye like you suggest. It's well worth speaking to a pharmacist or GP to get yourself some dry eye lubrication drops. This can help relieve the itching sensation that you are experiencing. You can use them as and when you need to throughout the day or night.
Thank you so much for your advice and reassurance. I’m using Thealoz both drops and gel in the evening and it helps a lot. Itchy feeling is at worst at the end of the day so it might be that. I also use computer a lot to work so that doesn't help for sure
Thank you, it really helps to hear it’s not anything serious. All the best
Hi, sorry to hear that, hope all went well for you. Yes, my vision was really blurry, it still is. Improving since getting off steroids but not yet clear enough. If my vision in the other eye wasn’t clear I wouldn’t be able to work.
Also it changes during the day, sometimes it's more clear and sometimes it gets very blurry and watery, especially when I feel my bleb more.
Doctor said that it’s all individual and for some people it takes longer and to be patient. They did some scans, they look good so I guess I just need to wait and see. I do realize it might be in some extent a permanent thing.
Thanks for your reply, which has given me some reassurance. I just find the blurred vision very frustrating, although surgeon said it could last as long as 2 months. I had Bleb procedure, but don't feel it!! Still taking lots of drops, steroid and anti biotic. See surgeon on 11th July, so find out more then. Can I ask how old you are and gender. I am female aged 69. Thanks again.
Yes, I completely understand you, I also had a bad blurry vision that was very distracting and made me so tired, especially in the first month. Lots of drops at first, they quit mine after exactly two months from the procedure. From then my vision started to improve so I believe that that will help you too. It's still very early, my eye just recently started to feel more (but not completely) normal after full 12 weeks.
I also don't feel my bleb, but sometimes I have this strange feeling like the bubble is getting bigger, weird sensation
I’m a female, 42 years old, with pigmentary glaucoma, diagnosed 19 years ago, I had procedure done in my right eye, left is still thankfully under control, hope it stays that way.
Feel free to ask for any tips or concerns you might have, I wish you speedy and well recovery 🙂
Thank you so much. I know I have to be patient and let the eye settle. Not really told what to expect before the surgery so bit of a learning curve. Have a good day and thanks for offer of further contact if needed.
Yes, they don't say much or prepare you for the aftermath, it was the same for me. All I can advise is to take it really slow in the first weeks, don’t bend, strain or lift anything heavy, and try to rest as much as possible until it heels. All the best with your recovery and take care.
