8 weeks and waiting!
My
steroids
are being reduced so I really hope it works soon 🤞 Just wondered if people find that methotrexate kicks in gradually or is it a sudden feeling much better thing? Also, do most people find it’s towards the end of 12 weeks that it starts to work? Or is it different for everyone?

Root Canal/steroids/antibiotics-avoid?
Hi folk, About 3 months ago. I had a tooth abscess. I was given a course of amoxicillin that dealt with the infection but gave me terrible Thrush that took quite a long time to get on top of. This was before I was diagnosed with PMR, but I was suffering really badly with it. My dentist is up a flight

Sore muscles and tendons
My question is: is this likely to be the result of coming off
steroids
after 3 years of significant doses, or should I be considering something else? If it's just a case of ploughing through it, how long can I expect it to go on?

Upper airway obstruction on spirometry?
So I have had a history of rhinitis/polyps for the past 14 years, it is treated with daily nasal
steroids
/(drops if bad) and an antihistamine- though all allergy tests have been negative.

Controlling PMR with diet
My symptoms fluctuate day to day - some days I feel I need to start with
steroids
as I have lots of pain and stiffness and some days my symptoms are much better.

Leflunomide or Tocilizumab
She went on at some length about the repeated flares and the need to get the
steroids
down and has started to say that perhaps the leflunomide should be replaced with Tocilizumab. I am to stay on 8 mg for 2 weeks, have another blood test and she will then review the result.

ALLERGIC REACTION TO LEFLUNOMIDE?
I have had PMR for five years and have tried to come down on the
steroids
with methotrexate but that didn't suit me so now I am trying Leflunomide. I am currently on a dose of 12mg of Prednisolone and my rheumy said that I have to get a lot lower than that.

Anybody complained about GP?
Having
steroids
at home has kept me out of hospital. My practice has a poor reputation - I have let it go in the past but now I think it's time to complain.

T4, T3 and TSH results
Recent results: My T4 is 14.3 (9.0 to 19.0) T3 4.6 (2.4 to 6) TSH 1.2 (0.4 to 4.9) A & E result few days prior was 2.2. My symptoms lately have been palpitations but more of a feeling of slow heart rate (so feels more under-active). Also, heaviness in legs and flu like feelings Palpitations

Have just tested positive for Covid. Currently on 7.5mg prednisolone. Is it OK to take Snip twice a day or should I increase my dosage?
It certainly helps but I seem to remember reading that you had to be careful taking this type of OTC remedy while on
steroids
. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Medications that reduce an overactive bladder
A friend, who is not on
steroids
, has just been diagnosed with an overactive bladder and has been prescribed solifenacin (Vesicare) and says she no longer gets up at night. I just wondered if anyone else suffers and has been prescribed the same or similar medication and finds it works.

Anyone on biologics and suffering leg ulcers
Due to being on
steroids
and antiplatelets, as well as Benepali and MTX, the skin tear didn’t reattach. I now have a leg ulcer, as well as another on my shin, caused by my nail ripping my skin, when taking my leggings off.

Covid action plan, antivirals, steroids etc
I haven't started taking high
steroids
yet b.c. I want to give my immune system a chance, and I just took them 2 months ago for a regular cold. My GP knows nothing about asthma; my consultant does respond, but with a delay of a 1-2 days.

I have no donor yet, but I was told I would gain weight from
steroids
taken after your transplant. Can anyone give more insight on that? I at least want to try. I'm on my second week of clean eating. It's truly not so bad. I've also cut out bread too. Now that's my hard spot. Little did I know.

Covid rash from vaccine
As many of you may know I have since November suffered a terrible rash ,which has led to months of appointments at doctors and hospital plus anti and
steroids
both on skin and orally. Just had my appointment at the hospital where the dermatologist explained that I have vasculitis from covid.

Is it long Covid
I had many flares but the last one was when my GP during Covid put my
steroids
up from 6mg to 15mg as I had head and jaw pain. After scans etc it was decided the cause was neuropathic and I began the long withdrawal back to 6mg.
