Hashimotos & IVF

Hi everyone

Looking for some advice/ experience

I am a 30 year old trying to conceive.

I have PCOS, hypothyroidism, and have recently been diagnosed with really high thyroid antibodies - (Hashimotos)

I have an appointment with an Endocrine Consultant later this month, and due to start IVF the following month

I am now worried that the thyroid antibodies may destroy my embryo when I have my IVF transfer - there’s research that shows it may stop it from working

- should I be on steroids when starting my IVF?

- Is there anything else i need to know about ?

- Anyone have experience of this?

- Do my levels need re- testing whilst being pregnant?

I would appreciate any help :)

You had a lot of good advice in your first post here: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Thyroid antibodies are the result of an autoimmune attack on your thyroid. They don't randomly attack just any old bit of body or embryo, they are very specific to your thyroid and not the babies either.

Have you posted your thyroid levels here?

You should be retested when you are pregnant as pregnancy increases the bodies requirements for thyroid hormone.

Lots of information in this link: thyroiduk.org/having-a-baby...
