NHS On The Ball As Ever, Not.
Anyway it was decided after lots of tests it was an exacerbation of my asthma, I was treated with a nebuliser,
steroids
and a stronger inhaler and released. Fast forward to this week and I got a phone call from the surgery inviting me for an asthma review, something I havent had in years.

RLS on steroids down one side of my body
It is truly like RLS only on
steroids
! It is maddening! Doctors have no idea what I'm talking about. I've had MRIs, nerve and muscle testing, biopsies, massage, etc. I stretch and roll on an Airrosti roller. I've tried mindfulness, but I can't hold still long enough for that to be effective.

Aargh will it never end ?
Having caught a bug off my daughter (flu like symptoms all last week) I called a temp halt to exercise.Over the weekend, it's morphed into a severe chest infection and I'm now on antibiotics and
steroids
. I need this like I need a hole in my head !

I definitely need another course of
steroids
or something more suitable long term as my mobility is getting worse, I can hardly stand or walk on bad days at the minute. I'm really hoping it's nothing sinister or MS but something is definitely off.

Help - trouble with diagnosis
I had the typical lupus looking rash on my face about 4 or 5 times last year, doctor assumed allergy and gave me
steroids
/anti fungal creams, more recently its been more on the eyelids and turning into angioedema where eyes swell completely and have to go on
steroids
.

Tattoo /steroids
My rheumatologist mentioned I might need steroid injections into my feet/toes specifically (guided by ultrasound). I have a large foot tattoo (well, I have fairly small feet but tattoo is across a fairly large proportion). She said they'd inject just beside it. I'm quite anxious about damaging my tattoo

Symbicort 100/6 to 200/6
I think the theory is, it's better to have a little more steroid every day rather than the short sharp courses of
steroids
(I had 5 course of pred last year). Thanks for any input.

Does asthma severity tend to reflect that of sinuses?
One of my issues is anxiety - I missed my nasal steroid last night to give my nose a break as the
steroids
are always drying it out. I still took the antihistamine and momtelukast. Through the day I got the familiar tingle and fullness in my sinuses m.

Dr Mackie is looking for pople willing to try Methotrexate for her STERLING PMR study
As above, she is looking for people who have PMR, don’t have GCA, and have had trouble tapering their
steroids
. And would be ok in principle to consider trying methotrexate. They would have to be local or able to travel to Leeds.

She has told me to stop the pred once my 2 week prescription is finished and I hadn’t been on the
steroids
long enough to need to reduce slowly. I’m going on holiday next week and not too happy about stopping abruptly. Any advice ?

tooth extraction - Pred increase?
Should I increase my
Steroids
for a few days? I’m also on Xaralto (blood thinners) for Atrial Fibrilation, I’m considering missing the one dose due to be taken Thursday evening (apparently they have a 24 hour span in my blood) hence the taking of one per day. Advice appreciated - thank you

Agony and morphine?
The gp couldn't prescribe
steroids
as she said that's up the the Rheumatology department to deal with but she has prescribed me with morphine which I have never had before. I am concerned in going on it but I'm in such pain I don't know what else to do. Does anyone have any advice please? Thanks 💕

White blood cells continue to rise.....Dr Cheung confirmed that this is due to the

Flare?
I don’t like taking meds generally so def didn’t want
steroids
. I diagnosed myself and googling symptoms & confirmed by Gp at that point, after suffering for quite a while. I’m insulin dependant diabetic so sent my bloods haywire. Not a good time.

Long term Steroids.
Many thanks for all your replies to my post.As I stated before, I am due to see my new Rheumatoid Consultant next week, so I'm very hopeful that she will help me on my journey and give me a suitable Rheumy drug that will suit me. I can then hopefully, slowly come off the Predisolone.

Reducing Effects
I just read DL’s very helpful article, Reducing
Steroids
& Activating the Adrenal Glands. So grateful for all the information and support here. It would’ve felt like walking through a dark and threatening forest without you all.
