Has anyone else had their inner demon released by steroids?
Near my 80th birthday and usually when things go wrong I say “Oh well, never mind”. Just recently, on 60 mg Prednisolone, after a usual disrespectful comment from a family member (been going on for years) I suddenly found my ‘voice’ and said things that had been a long time coming. “Oh well, never

Just reading this mornings posts - what is MXT ??
Am now on 2nd round of
steroids
. Currently at 10mg of pred with a 50% reduction of symptoms. I have spoken to my gp about going higher and coming down slower but he does not agree.I was originally on 30mg for a week then 20mg for a week as prescribed by rheumy.

Do some meds trigger asthma
I have had several courses of
steroids
since diagnosis, but symptoms still persist. I was previously on Bisoprolol for Af but swapped to digoxin when in hospital because doctor said it could trigger asthma. Comments appreciated.

Update on appointment re Low TSH
She thought it was only higher doses of
steroids
that would lower TSH levels (and was apparently used specifically to do so in the past). The plan is a faster taper of
steroids
which might help.

Methotrexate
She said if I was put on this it would be instead of the
steroids
. With all the trouble of tapering the Pred I can’t imagine just dropping it completely. She seemed to think I have been on
steroids
too long and should come off them.

Inflammation and RLS redux
I've seen a tiny number of articles discussing the comorbidity of RLS with autoimmune and other inflammatory conditions, including this one that states that
steroids
do improve RLS in some: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1087079222001575 But in my case,

Fatigue.. bloods good. Is remission over and SLL back?
Had a thought: if I took
steroids
, that would typically 'flush' the CLL cells out of hiding in my lymph nodes.. then a blood test would better see the situation.. But what test is the likely correct way to know the true situation?

Prednisolone and skin thinning
I think I’ve heard that long term use of
steroids
can cause the skin to get thinner - is this a thing? I’m wondering if it’s a cause of my difficulty shaking off the cellulitis that’s been bugging me over the past few weeks. Has anyone else had this?

Nothing helps!
Been seeing consultant for over 20 years and now everything seems to have stopped working ( antibiotics/
steroids
) I’m waiting on a bronchoscopy that was supposed to have happened this week but I’m in so much pain and have been ill since before Christmas.

Child diagnosed with hypothyroidism
I am really shocked because she has no obvious symptoms other than her growth has slowed a bit, which we thought might be connected to her use of inhaled
steroids
for asthma. Has anyone else got a child with an underactive thyroid?
