Cough after embryo transfer
Hi All, I had my 6th embryo transfer yesterday and this time I’m being treated with an immune protocol including
steroids
and other drugs. I’ve managed to pick up a cough and it seems worse after the transfer. Has anyone experienced a cough/cold after transfer and had any successes please?

Anyone had this?
This did not clear it so I was given a course of
steroids
. My bloods showed no infection but I was coughing up green phlegm. When I was breathing I could hear my chest “rattling”. The
steroids
eased it a little but it was still quite severe.

Worried about husband
He’s on 30mcg of
steroids
and just been put on hydroxychloroquine. He’s had no improvement, is in intense pain daily in his joints, can hardly walk or even take a shower and is very fatigued. He is taking morphine daily for the pain.

Abnormal ESR but normal CRP post ablation
I previously had polymyalgia and finally got off the
steroids
in January this year My ESR markers have come back as 'borderline at 30' but my CRP has come back normal, both tests are used to determine inflammation in the body.

Do I have heart failure or heart disease?
I put this down to PMR/tapering
steroids
- a known and common symptom. But now I am not so sure. I had a NM Myocardial Perfusion scan in February 2024. This showed that part of my heart muscle was not getting an adequate blood supply.

first respiratory appt tips please
I’ve had 3 exacerbations in the last year, 2 of which needed
steroids
. Between the 2nd & 3rd (Aug - Nov) I continued to cough and coughed most days until about 4 weeks. I’ve had a normal chest X-ray and spirometry was pretty normal too. Thanks.

New GCA treatment
Question: I know
steroids
can improve PMR fast and is a final confirmation in diagnosis. Is the effect similar for GCA or would the
steroids
ease my symptoms if caused by something else?

Is this usual when on long term
steroids
? As I get my pension this year I’m sure the general aches and pains are age related. One shoulder very painful. One hip stiff and frequently wakes me. Not pmr I’m thinking. I’m considering tapering to 0 (last time didn’t work pre covid).

Blood tests 'normal' but PMR symptoms
I have a GP appointment tomorrow and will be asking to be put back on
steroids
, despite the normal bloods, as the discomfort is interfering with my usual activities and sleep etc. Anyone with similar experience?

Mood and sleep disturbance on longterm steroids- useful article, page 1
I had no idea that
steroids
can make it hard to regulate mood and feel motivated. A psychologist specialising in the area explains how this happens and suggests ways we might be able to counter those effects.

reduction uncertainty
That goes after the
steroids
kick in so obviously the dose is running out earlier than before. Unless this is the adrenal problems already? So is it in one go or space it over a few weeks? Thanks in advance for your help.

Also have my first rheumatology appointment 5th January and am anxious as I keep reading they try to get you off
steroids
quickly. I’m stuck at 5mg as each time I reduce I flare.
