Negative again
I really thought having the laporscopy surgery and the
steroids
would be it this time. I’m 43 in Feb so reality of having to accept it may not happen is so sad . I should know this but I forget, once I stop meds, approx how long for period to come?

Am I on enough thyroid medication for my weight
I am on
steroids
- methyl pred 6 mg for adrenal insufficiency. Sorry for long post but think it was needed to clarify the situation and why I am asking the question. Many thanks A PS forgot to add thyroid atrophied due to Ord's - and at the beginning my TPO antibodies were over 7500 !

Question re:- White blood cell count
So my question is , having reduced the
steroids
and the ESR is remaining normal, is it likely that the White Blood Cell count which was high on initial dose of 25 mg and then dropped when I was taking 20mg is likely to have dropped further now I am on 15mg.

Classification Criteria vs. Diagnosis Criteria
"When diagnosing PMR, rheumatologists take into consideration many factors that are not reflected in the provisional classification criteria, such as patient response to a trial of
steroids
. "Confusion between classification and diagnostic criteria is common, but it is a crucial distinction.

Severe SOB
I had a 7 day course of oral
steroids
last summer when the heat caused the cellar to smell badly. The tablets didn't work as quickly as they used to. I have no phlegm or cough and no wheeze on my chest. I had a respiratory appointment in hospital 2 weeks ago after a 6 month wait.

Why does my rheumatologist want me to go onto Methotrexate when I am on a low does of Prednisolone and am getting good symptom relief?
My rheumatologist thinks that even low doses of
steroids
are harmful. I think that she's not totally confident about my diagnosis and I wonder whether she's pushing Methotrexate because she is worried that I have RA instead (or as well).

I have had one successful pregnancy but was on
steroids
and a small dose of Levothyroxine. Does anyone know if there are any ways to lower my antibodies without
steroids
again? Thanks for advice anyone has to share!

Methotrexate & over heating
I also take a bunch of other drugs including anticonvulsants, anticoagulants and
steroids
. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced feeling so hot, I literally feel like I'm burning up to myself and anyone else.

Facial Hair growth due to Cyclosporine
I have taken
Steroids
before and I know hair growth caused by it stops as it's s dose is tapered. I would like to know if anyone has experienced facial hair growth due to cyclosporine, if yes, does it last forever or does it stop as the dose is tapered.

Possible Kidney Failure
On top of that, he has very bad nummular eczema which we were treating with topical
steroids
but we stopped those because of his kidney numbers. Now the eczema is worse than ever and we're just using over-the-counter lotions.

Anyone had to stop work on Heath grounds?
I’ve just had a year off during which I had a craniotomy and RT.( also taking
steroids
for GCA which isn’t helping!) I have just started a phased return to work. Work have been amazing and my return is very flexible. However, I don’t know if I can do it.

Severe Degenerative Arthritis and Osteoporosis
I have lupus and other autoimmune conditions and have taken
steroids
for many years. This was thought to have partly contributed towards the cause of my osteoporosis. But has taking
steroids
for two decades also increased the chance of degenerative arthritis.? Is there a connection?.

yesterday I saw my new rheumatologist and her advice was for me to start reducing my
steroids
by 1 mg per month until I get down to 5 mg ( I am currently on 11 mg a day and have been reducing by half a mg each month) then 1 mg every 2 months.

Covid causing Asthma flare
I've found that box breathing is helpful to ease my symptoms and I've started to take my rescue pack of
steroids
and I'm hoping that it will ease things a bit.

steroids and osteoarthritis
But now, I'm told the
steroids
have caused osteoarthritis, and I also keep forgetting everyday names of things. Do you think this is related? Also, I haven't even lost an ounce of the weight gained since starting pred. Ay ideas how I can shift it, I am trying everything.
