Gingko biloba extracts are frequently mentioned across the various herbal/alternative medicine sites. Indeed, I have been tempted to try it myself for a non-thyroid reason. So any concern over its safety has to considered carefully. This paper comes from a reputable source and suggests the very

Does any one have a theory ?
Hi I wonder if any one can answer my very odd issue- I have been running for over a year and when I started I used to have very bad left calf strain so with rest and a support sock I got back training then after I graduated I tore my left quad muscle which put me out of action for another twelve weeks

Is my almost wall to wall double vision a cause for concern?
Hi Everyone, When my dose was increased by Dr S in September my occasional double vision disappeared. Since my dose was cut in January by 25mcg it immediately came back. Of course I increased the Levo back, but have since gradually reduced to 150mcg Levo and have added 2 grains of Armour. Still have

Any experience of spinal cord stimulation?
Pain mmgt specialist suggests I try but it sounds like a torture! I can't face going to the gp for a referral to discuss because that's an ordeal and I always work myself up and end up sobbing so they think I'm a nut and I usually walk out with a prescription for anti Ds which I don't think work and

balance
Has anyone been sent to see a nuerologist? My balance and co-ordination has become much worse over the last 2 yrs. I am exhausted just trying to concentrate on walking in a straight line. I also get episodes of double vision

I have double vision in my left eye and need a very high grade prism in my glasses to correct this. For a while now I've been convinced that this has aided and abetted my balance problems. It seems to me that the tremor I experience with Ataxia makes my eyes involuntarily zigzag across the prism

Joint replacement or fusion
Has anyone had joint replacement or fusion? I'm wondering whether its worth it in the end? Specifically big toe fusion, and wrist and thumb joint fusion or replacement? I'd like to hear your experiences. Thanks

Double and Blurred Vision
Hi Everyone, Should I be worried about double vision? My GP recently cut my dose and I felt awful. One of the many things that have returned is double vision. There is a shadow under objects and letters. I also get very blurry vision. This had improved since raising my meds from September to December

Light at the end of the tunnel
Plodded on as best I could until 2002 as I had spondylilothesis, with was repaired with a
spinal
fusion
in Sept 2002. Best thing I ever had done, gave me a new lease of life. 3 years after the operation I started running just to see what I could do again after been active up until my 20's.

Wheres the best pain clinic for internal spinal cord stimulator?
I have been all over the country going to pain clinics and neuro surgeons. I have syringomyelia which has caused lots of pain down my left leg and round the left side of my chest. I have been to top hospitals in Liverpool, Preston and London. Ideally I would want to go to a hospital in the north

Has any female with AMN had kidney problems? I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure early this year. Came out of nowhere.
I am 65 and started having AMN symptoms in my early 40's. I was diagnosed in 1998 after my second one week visit to the Mayo, first visit was in 1991 with no diagnosis. Then the very long chain fatty acid link with AMN was discovered and that is how they finally discovered what I have when I went back

Nice surprise!
I thought I'd test my running shoes to see if I went sliding everywhere and to my complete surprise they didn't budge! Two things crossed my mind:hmm looks like I'm going to have to run for 25 minutes and secondly aha! but will I slip when running? Wow what an exhilarating run. Kept an eye on the path

I had my discs removed,
spinal
fusion
and
spinal
cage 3 weeks ago and it has been quite hard. I am not allowed to drive, wash up, iron or lean down. Now I can hear lots of you saying you lucky so and so and wish this was you but in reality its very very frustrating.
