Has anyone been sent to see a nuerologist? My balance and co-ordination has become much worse over the last 2 yrs. I am exhausted just trying to concentrate on walking in a straight line. I also get episodes of double vision

hello there, your balance and vision is effected with fibro.... i see my neurologist often as i have fibro and ms... .. it can be frightening...
the best advice for me to give you is let it slide... dont go or do things that will endanger you..like crossing a road as i did... stubborness was my problem... having animals around u is the best therapy... listening to music via headphones... it can almost feel like a trip in the magic musheroom villa... i went blind in may 2007 due to ms, now that was scary... ive learnt to meditate .... hope you will feel ok babe
Hi
As earthanhel has advised go to your GP and make sure he gets you referred to a neurologist as they will be the best fora proper diagnosis.
I know that all these new symptoms that crop up can be really frightening so get a diagnosis and then you can move foreword (although a bit wobbly) with your life.
Best wishes for the future.
Take care and kindest regards
Terry
Hi Siver,
I saw neurologist who said I had uncompensated balance issues from a 'vestibular event', and referred me to physio for VRT excercises. Then I saw ent who referred me to balance clinic at St Michaels' in Bristol...who diagnosed weak left balance organs and gave me VRT exercises. The consultative that tested me was brilliant. She said no damage remaining but brain lost balance signal memory and needs reminding - periodically. Last review I saw her colleague and asked if fibro could be the cause of my imbalance..she said unlikely. Now I find it is common to fibro!!! It might be worth getting tested and vrt does help. Alternatively look up vrt exercises online. Unfortunately the more I travel along this path the less I realise is known about the disorder but we can suspect that a lot of autonomic signals around the body miss function. Good luck
Thank you helbell, I have been down the ENT route and they said that at some point in my life I had a bad ear infection which is now affecting my balance. Didnt believe that. Then they said my eyes were not in sync with my brain and gave me exercises, which of course made no difference. So neurologist it is !!!!!
