Tasigna (Nilotinib) as a treatment/cure for SCA?
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has tried Tasigna (Nilotinib - FDA-approved treatment for cancer of the white blood cells) as a treatment/cure for cerebellar ataxia. There has been a recent study by renowned researchers in South Korea: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28601294 Some people in Korea

Gaucher Disease
Does anyone on here have Gaucher Disease? There seems to be a link between that, Parkinsons, and being an ashkenazi Jew. I'm trying to get more information about this. Thanks. Symptoms and timing of getting one then the other or simultaneous diagnosis.

Piriformis syndrome
Anyone else had this and can give advice to speed recovery up? I did my last run of week two on friday and felt pain in my lower back. I am running a bit more than the app is telling me too, doing a couple of extra runs to enable me to do 5 or 6k. I went out on Sunday and the pain was there from

Using carbonated drinks to take Sinemet.
When I was recovering from back surgery,

to fix sciatica pain I had down both legs, I was introduced to the idea of using ginger ale when I take Sinemet. I was at Medstar Georgetown University hospital and was visited by a doctor and a few students. It seemed to work faster.

Speech Problems with Type 1A CMT
I was only diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth 1 years ago because the doctors I consulted in regional Australia, where I live, have no idea about CMT. I was treated for 30 years for arthritis - God, I was so angry. I now have a spinal cord stimulator in my back to lessen the pain of the Scoliosis

Acupuncture
Has anyone had acupuncture for severe back pain? I have had four lumbar spinal fusions, all failed, and now steroid injection has been suggested. I am very against this for many reasons but am a big fan of acupuncture for general health. Has anyone had needles down the spine and on the operation site

Acupuncture for back pain after spinal fusions
Has anyone tried this? Had the spinal needles yesterday and it was marvellous afterwards. Today feel really awful, in pain again and very depressed. The accupuncturist is no charlatan and top class in the profession. Obviously will be needing several sessions and I believe the results are cumulative

I was diagnosed with Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA) Last August and had 3 high doses of steroids and 3 lots of Cyclophosmahide at 3 week intervals, the result was not as good as rheumatologist had hoped for and she is referring me to a specialist clinic in Southampton, in the meantime my steroids
