Almost died of flu, pneumonia and sepsis - will the fear of death go away?
Hi all, I'm so happy there's an online community for people who've been in an ICU! I'm 53 years old and prior to this thought I was really healthy. I'm a hillwalker and regularly climb large Scottish mountains. The consultants in the hospital kept referring to me as "young and fit" which does wonders

anal pain spasms 10 years helllllllp
Hi everyone I hope someone out there can help me because it's now been 10 Years that I have suffered with this unbearable pain and nothing seems to help. The doctors have sent me for more operations and procedures that I can even explain. Everything from two different pudendal nerve blocks to radio ablation

knee pain
I'm not sure if I over did it in physical therapy yesterday but I woke up with terrible knee pain, I've also noticed that my joints have been grinding when I try to do certain exercises such as squats.

Here, get this salve, get more
physiotherapy
, don’t run and come back if you feel the need. Nah. I will get my gait checked again. New shoes if necessary. Insoles, if the orthpaedic shoemaker sees the need.

A cautionary tale...
A few months before Christmas last year I started to get really bad pains in my hip. I was referred to a physio at my GP surgery, she diagnosed Osteo Arthritis. Sent me for an x ray which showed nothing wrong with my hip... Hmmm? I decided to check my shoes, these have done barely 200K, I track them

After blood results, so many new things.
Just had the phone appointment with the Rheumy ~ finally. Blood glucose 7.7 (which indicates diabetes). Last month was normal. CRP 4. Cholesterol is high, so she wants me on a pill, although I don't know what marker it's at. Yet another pill. :( Physio therapy for the low back issues, x-rays of hips

I'm back!
After 3 weeks out injured, infuriatingly in W9, I've tried my first tentative running steps. Not sure how it would go so a few days ago I tried the 1 min intervals from W1, which was reassuringly easy with no after effects. So where to restart? I decided on W5R1 with the 5 min intervals on a REALLY slow

CLL W+W related(?) back/ leg pain
Folks, I realise I should have asked the extensive knowledge base here this question before now! I have hitherto not connected any of my current symptoms to CLL even though it can affect so much. My CLL does not bother me, I have zero symptoms and bloods are elevated but of no concern to my haematologist

Someone waiting for my return 😁
A couple of cautiously optimistic walks !I went out yesterday for a walk to my local shop which was picking the distance up ever so slightly since hurting my back and without any consequences. I have also been doing the daily exercises given to me by my physio (He's a magician !) The back feels pretty

Why did they let my shoulders get so bad?
So, I have a problem with dislocating and subluxing my shoulders. It has been happening for nearly ten years. It started with every other month and then every week. It then moved to every day and finally all the time. It calmed down with some physio, but I kept having problems but told I would have to

sciatica
I’ve had sciatica for a few years. Was going to physical therapy and was helping. The day before Easter I fell and landed on my tail bone. Since then it’s back with a vengeance. My whole left leg gets numb. I had a left hip replacement in 2020. Drs say I have spinal stenosis and need spinal surgery.

Pap17 Recovery still ongoing
Tomorrow is 7 weeks since I tore the joint between my calf muscles and now I am 4.5 weeks pain free. I am now in the gym three times a week doing physio using weights and have progressed to single leg full body weight and the weights on the machines are going up. Still a few weeks away from being allowed

Exercise and muscle pain
I have had PMR for 5+ years now, 76 yrs old and still weaning down on Prednisone, now at 2 mg. I have strained my lower back with lifting and bending too much as we recently moved, and the Physical therapist has me on mild back exercises. Oh my gosh, I am so sore through my whole pelvic area. How does

A couple of walks since hurting my back 🚶
Yesterday was the first walk since hurting my back . I have had 2 physio appointments and been doing lots of exercises to loosen it up again. Yesterday was ok so I went out again today on the same route. It's not far and it's not fast but it's where I am and that's what I need to accept and deal with

amazing hospital staff
About 3 weeks ago I was in the bathroom, I just got out of the shower, the next thing I know I’m across the room on the floor with my back against a metal radiator. The noise 😩 & the pain was excruciating. I ended up in hospital, I’d broken 6 ribs some more than once, fractured shoulder blade & a chipped
