Another (long) Great South Run Report
Sorry, this started as a short post, honest. I will concentrate on the run rather than the excellent social side of seeing my lovely running buddies, who have all been mentioned in previous posts. I ran the Great South Run in 2019 , just over a year from c25k graduation, and said I just wanted to to

I’ve had a back injury from a trip and can’t run atm. I’m finding it’s really affecting my mental health. How do I deal with this?
I’ve been doing c25k for 18 months now and really enjoy it . Running helps me to feel good and ‘resets’ my brain and body . It also helps with menopausal joint pain. I’ve not run now for more than three weeks due to lower back pain . I’ve seen my physio who has given me some stretches to strengthen my

Another Great South Run report
As I am sure you are bored of being told, we had a fab HU meet up in Portsmouth over the weekend. A chance to catch up on the news our very active What’sApp group might have missed and for other halves to socialise while waiting for us to get back. Oh yes, and to run a lovely 10 mile race. Unfortunately

Car accident in July ;(
So I was involved in a rear end shunt in July. Car hit me at 50mph and I was stationery. I've got neck and spine problems and this has greatly increased my pain and also the symptoms I'm showing as well. Constant neck pain, throbbing and cruching when I move my neck. Back pain and spasms all the time

PMR - need to take back control - GP call tomorrow
I have a follow up call with the nice lady GP tomorrow morning, after I had the neck scan on Wednesday. I've just been reading some of the posts here and it highlighted for me the importance of staying in control of this journey and how careful you need to be in what you say during consultations to

When the so-called tropical depression came up the Mid Atlantic coast, here in Central Virginia we had several days of winds (with some very exuberant gale force bursts) that brought down one large pine and an abundance of smaller limbs, branches, twigs and leaf clusters. European Masters Championships 2023 Pescara, Italy 21/09-01/10, Part 2. 200 Metres
I’ve always struggled with the 200 metres. Technically I really shouldn’t as I have a very good 100m time for my age but it just hasn’t fully transferred to the 200. Hence I decided not to train for it this year but focus on the 100 instead. Therefore I wasn’t expecting great things at these Championships

Hypothyroidism and shivering

Small victories…🙂🤞
I just wanted to share that today was my first full 5K run since an upper hamstring injury back at the end of July. A long time not being able to run, lots of rehab exercises and a very gradual return (run/walk and then gradually building the distance up). I am still a bit achey from time to time and

Hi , I have been diagnosed with arthritis. I have been having pains in both legs similar to sciactica . I saw a physio and after a few exercises she said it was nothing to do with nerve pain or spine. Apparently the muscles around the bones are weak and I have exercises to do every day for 6 weeks

Problems with neck causing shoulder and arm pains
I have been back and forwards to the doctors over the past couple of years with a suspected torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. I had a ultrasound on shoulder 2 months ago and was told my shoulder is fine and I probably have a neck problem which is causing the pain. Contacted doctors again and was

Has anyone with JHS/hEDS noticed any improvement with...

Methylfolate as suggested by researchers at Tulane University earlier this year? ... anything else? I'm desperately clutching at straws in the hope that something might help because otherwise there

GP insisting on using CRP & ESR as inflammatory markers...and managing to get a creatine kinase blood test ordered...legs are still an issue
Hello I was called in to my GP surgery yesterday, by one of the GPs, the letter indicating it was for a medication review. She's not one of the GPs I prefer to see, she can be a little vague etc. But we ended up going through my meds and she asked about steroids being on my repeat....I said that although
