Past the 3 week mark, small positives but no contact from any doctors or therapists, is that normal?
The nurse says she has been having
physiotherapy
and being sat into a chair and also placed on a standing table but they are not there when this is done so do not know how it goes or what therapists say.

Diagnosis
Hi Everyone. I am in the early stages of dealing with this situation. I have had symptoms building gradually for around two months. My doctor did some blood tests which came back clear. At that point he suggested physio for my shoulder, back and hip pain. When I self-referred online, I got a call back

BM10K - a race of two halves
Warning, severely long post 😅 It’s been a long time coming but finally I’ve had my first proper street race in the U.K. 😃 The Brighton Marathon 10K. I was all signed up and ready to go for the London Winter Run in 2020 but that got cancelled due to high winds and I was gutted 😢. Then lockdown happened

I danced the cooldown!
Done. W9R3 completed and I am elated. Was told by the physio that I'd never run for fitness since diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis grade 4. Told by the surgeon there was nothing I could do but keep slim and book in for a partial knee replacement. So I stopped moving, got depressed and put on a stone

Back again with a 4K 😊
I haven’t run for 10 days. My Dad had a bad fall in the bathroom and broke his hip last week. He lay there for over an hour before the ambulance came, with my brother trying to persuade him not try to get up. Once the ambulance came it took another hour for them to get him out. Traumatic for all of us

Decisions
So shall I run tomorrow or not? On the plus side, I would really like to. On the minus side, I ran yesterday morning (nrc one hard, one easy which was great). I then set off in the campervan so I could go to the Southampton Boat Show today. Spent all day walking (nearly 15000 steps) or driving, about

Anybody got footwear advice for short tendons?
Day 3 and had some great advice, I started cold with nothing but the podcast but doing some reading today and thinking about form and footwear. I have short achilies tendons. I had surgery to correct over 20 years ago and it only partially worked. Physio and consultant have basically told me to just

My rheumatology upset me when he saw my DEXA scan told me to take FORTEO?He said I was going to break my hip or back.
I am 78 years old and I appreciate your replies. I am doing now nothing about my osteoporosis. I have decided to take my chances. In the past I did have two vertebral fractures. My DEXA scan is very poor because I stopped taking probably are due to the pandemic and other decisions not to take such a

Physio finally came after eleven months.
We were first referred for/to a physiotherapist eleven months ago for my chronic and severe back pain due to four compression fractures in my spine. For eleven months I have been prescribed morphine, paracetamol and ibuprofen. At last, a very helpful and skilled NHS physiotherapist came this morning

Learned a lesson. So today was my third run since getting

Review with Occupational Therapist conclusion.
apparently, I'm also entitled to free
physiotherapy
for walking, insoles for my trainers and are having grip handrails also fitted where needed, plus she is also allocating me a falls monitor because I am so vulnerable here on my own. so all in all I am pleased and hope the outcome brings all this into

A lumpectomy gone askew
I had IORT July 2018 for a 1.5 cm ductal carcinoma. My doc said "oops, I missed a little cancer you better have adjutant radiation as well." I complied. In June of 2020 my surgery site became infected and I developed and still have a seroma/hematoma. I received lymphatic physical therapy and now wound

Big10k and the Dodgy Achilles Revelation
I wasn't going to post as Katnap and Time_Lord were both going to but I had such a good experience at today's Stratford Big10k that I had to share what happened in the hope it helps others. As you may know, I've been struggling over the past few months with my Achilles. It's got worse and worse

Pain Clinic London
Has anyone paid to see Chris Jenner in London and was it worth it? I feel quite fortunate to have seen a rheumatologist and pain dr but never ever really get a definite diagnosis and flounder around discussing different meds and any physio just causes me far more pain than I started with.
