I have had PMR for 5+ years now, 76 yrs old and still weaning down on Prednisone, now at 2 mg. I have strained my lower back with lifting and bending too much as we recently moved, and the Physical therapist has me on mild back exercises. Oh my gosh, I am so sore through my whole pelvic area. How does exercise affect PMR? I suppose that muscle healing is much slower with PMR.

Absolutely - the muscles are compromised and don't heal as quickly. So DOMS, delayed onset muscle soreness, tends to be worse and then takes longer to go away. Be patient! Not got a handy grandchild to give a bit of help?
I agree with PMRpro the muscles do take more of a beating but keep on keeping on exercising as best you can. the working muscles help us with the bones!!! I am right where you are 76 and 5 plus years but have tapered to nearly nothing... but lots of aches and pains. doing lots of yoga as the name implies!! good luck!
Sudden crippling lower backache 3 weeks ago. No GP appointments available so went to highly recommended Chiropractor. She is my new best friend!
