"A bomb" delivery success!

hey guys..im pleased to report an(almost)flawless delivery at y/days c.h.c meeting.the almost is because unit manager wasnt present, she had gone home with a "tummy bug"?mmmm...I had with me client welfare/support from legal team she came to my house first we had coffee and i showed her msgs from incident 15th march.and i had prepared a 2 page statement to be given to all which she looked at and confirmed correct.at meeeting was c.h.c nurse/social worker, myself above from legal.the only from the unit was lead physio and a trainee(i told him to leave, his attendance was not relevant)i gave statements left legal in room and went and sat with sean for 5 mins as i was told he had refused to attend.sean told me to crack on,usual "get me out of here".i was very stressed/nervous but that brief chat with him gave me resolve and strength.legal reported that physio had read and said she needed to get ass. manager as she thought meeting was just to establish further extension.after this.of course it was game over..my old dad told me many years ago,"fail to prepare, prepare to fail",the cowardice of a manager, leaving others to face what she must have known was coming is beyond and i made it known,i will deal with her later.after meeting social worker,c.h.c.legal,myself sat with sean.it was agreed that sean be removed from mental health order and he confirmed verbally and in writing that he wanted to be moved.all that needs to be done now is an assessment from hawthorns(this will happen quickly)my good freind nanapal, see you soon,fish/chips are on me!!!on the drive home my legal freind gave me de-brief,she is a former nurse of course and has only been in this job since jan.she said she will never forget this meeting but she also got emotional, pulled over,we had a cuddle and cry..i slept last night for a solid 10 hours maybe for first time in almost 3 years.it shouldnt have to be like this though?today i wonder how many families are affected by lack of social care and dont feel able to voice concern?when we left unit sean shouted "up the hammers"! i shouted back "yes my lad"...

Hi D, just come in and notification of your message flashed up.

Well done to you having achieved your objective, being organised in your preparation and keeping emotions at bay. Don’t really believe management were not made aware of reason behind this meeting. Shame on the manager bailing out on the ‘pretence’ of a tummy bug - a little too convenient - maybe I am getting too cynical in my old age! I actually remarked yesterday to husband would love to be a fly on wall at your meeting.

Pleased to hear you already have the wheels in motion to get Sean moved. 🤞the red tape nonsense with CHC we both know so well doesn’t go on for too long.

Going to have a celebratory cup of coffee & slice of cake to toast yours & Seans good news.

P.S. just opened a letter from James Cook hospital & sons Baclofen Pump procedure is next Thursday 4th May so another bit of good news.

Take care Nanapal x

Brilliant D .....just brilliant. Some loose ends to be sure but (quite apart from your fish & chips) we'll have to have a 'virtual' party here when you and Nan and the 'lads' eventually meet up ! 😑 Love to all.... Xxx

Well done but you are right it shouldn't have to be like this.

Sadly it seems things do not change in social services. Neither do the excuses of under staffed underfunded.

It seems strange in a time of so called "mental health" awareness that little true investment in social care is given.

Hopefully you can have a rest from the battle.....for a while.

Hi D, well knew you would knock them dead and you did, the sooner you get Sean out of there the better, and you and nanapal will have additional support, as and when you need it. I did send you a message I and a few of our friends were thinking about you going into this meeting, it was under a mothers love, because your fight for your son is inspiring, well done you take care love Alice xx
