3 years ago I started feeling an uncomfortable pain in my bladder region. I wouldn't empty properly and they're be a burning before and after urination.Since then, I've had blood tests, prostate checks, urine tests and more recently an ultrasound scan. All have come back negative (and healthy). In my

Exercise post surgery
Hi, I appreciate there are other more serious matters of concern but I would just like to know what types of exercise and when you started after lung surgery. I am bored with physio and less motivated to walk everyday!

My experience at "Older Persons" clinic....
Was seen very quickly for bp and weight...bp always very high at any surgery......it was 180/80......it:s 150/70 at home...Anyway was then called in to see the doctor.......she talked about my bp and dizziness/balance....and everything according to her is because of steroids!......she more or less said

Sciatica
Has anyone had sciatica either due to low B12 or as a reversing out symptom?Despite all my longstanding upper back pain and occasional lower back issues, I've never had this before. Hoping my increased B12 and physio sort it out.

Tired weak hips when walking - is it still Pmr
Hi, I'm feeling despondent as it seems that I can walk less and less and I don't know what's wrong.I've been on 1mg, trying to get off for over a year. I have no pain except when I do sustained walking. It kicks in after about 3 minutes. Tired, aching hips and lower back and I have to stop. I've got

Steroid in thumb & finger joint
Hi Seizing up at a rate of knots. 😬 RA seemed to be in remission and I just had one stiff MCP joint in my right hand when I was last in clinic in 2022. For the last few months, I've been getting trigger finger in that joint, a lot of pain in the base of my thumb and wrist, same hand, and some stiffness

I was talking with my wife about this forum & we found that reply’s & advice given & support gained is quicker, more useful than going to physio, IT even neurologist. You don’t have to wait for letters or phone calls, all the advice & help is here. It may not seem that but I’m grateful. Reading from

How to Get Injured and Simply Ruin Your Fitness
I once busted my knee and then my ankle. I also nearly broke both knees trying to catch a frisbee. I even pulled out my back getting the roast out of the oven. I got punched doing martial arts (many times), fell back and nearly broke my arm. My trapezius muscle seized up when I ran in zero temperature

Insertional Achilles tendinitis
Has anyone got/had this and any stories of recovery and what worked? I've not run since last July when I felt a niggle in my ankle which then developed into pain when first getting out of bed, moving around and driving. I went to the see a MSK podiatrist for some inserts, he did a quick exam and ultrasound

Update on me
Before I go to visit Ralph this morning, thought I'd write a bit about me. I rang this morning to see how his first night was, he'd vomited a little which she said was due to the stress of the move, but then he was fine and slept well. Last night was the first decent sleep I've had since his operation

At last I’ve managed 2x5minute runs🤣 and shoe porn 🤣🤣
We’ll after at least 2 months of physio and exercises I’ve finally got to 2x5 minutes of running. I still felt som pain but physio did say that I could carry on so long as it wasn’t too severe. So now I think I will stick with this regime for a while and I’ll try 2 runs a week. It’s slow progress but

BATH HM RACE REPORT (warning: a lot of words 😂)
Well, I did it! I finally got to the start line and crossed the finish line and I can tick this one off my list at long last. Thank you for all your pom-poms, I thought of them often along the way 🥰 The first time I entered this race was 2015. My dad was in the final stages of vascular dementia and

IT’S WEEKLY CHAT TIME: MARCH 18 to 25
It’s me again I am afraid! Just the way the rota has worked out this last week. I haven’t effected a coup and packed off my fellow admins to heaven knows where! The weeks seem to be flying by. Yesterday,Sunday, was an exception as I kept an eye out for news of our racers who took on some seriously

My consultant will not send me to pulmonary rehab course as he says I am not breathless enough but has been promising me, without effect, for a year that I could see a respiratory physio for advice. Each time I see him he ups my steroids, but advice on living with uncontrolled asthma is lacking. I eventually
