Does a lack of intrinsic factor prevent iron absorption?
Does a lack of intrinsic factor prevent the absorption of iron too or is it simply B12? If so what would be the best way to get iron into the body and does anyone know of any decent iron supplements that are readily absorbed? Thank you all for any help

Post exercise pain
Hi all. I’ve had RA for the past 7 years and been very well managed on methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine with only one very minor flare in my shoulder last year. For the last couple of months I have noticed whenever I engage in physical activity such as gardening, hoovering or even just a longer

Help with iron panel results please?
I have had a test at the surgery which has come back normal but thought I’d check here? As I don’t understand it and I understand that ferritin is important but that you shouldn’t just take iron if your iron count is good but how do you increase only the ferritin ? Thanks 😊 Ferritin 79. Range 11

cll/ sepsis/check your prescriptions
well its been a while since I was on the site. I just had my first injection for c19 which sent my temp to 38.1. Only lasted a few hours. CLL, for myself thankfully its still stable. They are still trying to work out the connection between Sepsis attacks and cll. In basics I was back in hospital again

Is it safe to take Co codamol
Prescribed co codamol for pain relief at A&E (neck pain long story) When I got home read the data sheet that came with medication. Possible side effects are changes in blood cells such as low number of cells which fight infection and cells which is involved in blood clotting. My platelets are in the

Could I still have low iron?
I haven’t yet returned to normal since my low iron diagnosis and iron infusion treatment in October. All my tests are coming back good or normal. My mean cell value is 86.7 [80-100] Ferritin 276 [10-300] As my MCV is low in the range, could this indicate that my red blood cells are still small? I’m still

Gallbladder removed 5 days ago
Hi all, after many years of pain and fear caused by gallstones, I finally had my gallbladder removed via keyhole surgery over the weekend. It all came to a head in January just gone where I had a severe blockage that caused jaundice, reduced liver function and pancreatitis. This bumped me up the list

Vit B12 and diarrhoea
How well is the link between Vit B12 and diarrhoea understood? Does it just amount to observation that people with Vit B12 deficiency can have diarrhoea. Signs of B12 deficiency in the mouth
Hi All, I posted most of this on another thread but thought I'd start my own thread in case someone found it useful. fed up with pain!
Hi all, First time posting on here, I’m 27 and have been given an assumptive diagnosis of endo based on all of my symptoms by my gynae consultant. I’m on the wait list for a diagnostic lap but that could be 9-12 months. I’m due to start on Zoladex in a couple of weeks as the pill is providing no relief

Hi there again. I've been looking into my low ferritin, and recently did both the iron panel and FBC. Could someone please comment on them? is it safe to start supplementing? Anything to watch out for?
