Flaxseed oil, Omega-3's and lignans - good or bad with PCa?
So I'm a little mixed on flaxseed oil given the research I've done and my Care Oncology Advisor's advice to switch from cod liver oil (too much vitamin A) to flaxseed oil. I do grind my own to put in my yoghurt/oats/etc. which includes the lignans, but flaxseed oil does not. This article keeps me on

Severely weak. Can I try heme iron peptides?
Could my trembling/vibrations/debility be caused by iron deficiency as ferritin was 17 (saturation n iron stores also on lower side). I also feel cold. After taking iron, I feel almost normal for sometime n the trembling lessens too, then again feel weak by evening. if I don't take the iron in evening

Starting Ropinirole as a first med for RLS?
I have had more severe RLS since last March, which is possibly a Long-Covid symptom. So far I have had my iron/ferritin tested. My ferritin was on 25 initially but has gone up to 45 after taking oral iron supplement which I still continue to take. My RSL has not improved much yet though. It is still

Un explained Breast Pain
I am writing this on behalf of my wife. She has had a pain in the upper inner right quadrant of the breast for the last 2 years. When this first came up she had an appointment at our local hospital and received a bilateral mammogram and all was normal. There was no focal lesion seen. The radiologist

Teva levothyroxine
Hi, i think I'm experiencing a reaction to levothyroxine. 4 weeks ago I was feeling fine on 50mcg (Accord) Northstar, I had my routine yearly blood test which showed TSH 9.8 so GP increased me to 75mcg with an additional 25mcg tablet, from Northstar but inside is from TEVA. 3 weeks in taking them and

Could reducing pred cause symptoms 2 weeks later
Hi, I'm new to the site. Would like to say thank you for the huge wealth of knowledge and advice given. Every time I go to ask a question or make a comment- it's already been asked or made. However, I cannot find the answer to this one. I eventually started on 20 mg of prednisolone on 09/03/21 after

PMR IN LOWER BACK
I have GCA lost sight 10 years ago. I never had PMR until a few weeks ago when I developed severe pains in my hips and lower back. I was on 9 mg of Pred for my GCA and because of a recent flare. Last Saturday the pains in my back were so bad I raised my Pred to 15 mg thinking it could be PMR. it eased

Cod liver oil and Eliquis?
My eye doctor put me on cod liver oil capsules but I’ve heard they can thin the blood and I’m also on Eliquis. Any thoughts?

Opioid Analgesics. Withdrawal from patients already prescribed long term.
I despair when I see this need for a person to get a "High" from a drug. These are the people who are causing medication to become higher class drugs and in the case of Codeine, which I am fighting the MHRA and Depth of health, to being withdrawn from sensible patients who benefit from relief of pain

Abnormal iron results
Hello, can anyone let me know if abnormal iron results are a Hashi's thing? They've been like this for a couple of years now (tests all done privately) but NHS haven't ever tested for it. Is it worth pursuing with the GP or just leave it alone. I don't take any iron supplements so I don't really

Rheumatology post - updates
Hi everyone - thank you all for your support yesterday. Today I took the drop from 40 to 20 mg and started on Co-codamol - I’m amazed at how much less pain I have, but I guess that’s because I’m addressing the real issue of Osteoarthritis rather than PMR so I’m almost certain the moment Rheumatologist

The Doctor took me off BuTec patches today,I have been on them for 8 weeks but they are giving me breathing problems and they no longer work,I was wondering if anyone new when it would be appropriate to go back on Co-codamol.

The Removal of Opioid's from Sensible Chronic pain sufferers.
My Letter to British Pain Society. Mr Bhaskar. I read with intent your articles on Opioid analgesics. Firstly may I add. I am currently in the process of starting legal action against the MHRA and their guidance published a few months ago regards to the prescribing of these particular. As a carer who
