well its been a while since I was on the site. I just had my first injection for c19 which sent my temp to 38.1. Only lasted a few hours.
CLL, for myself thankfully its still stable. They are still trying to work out the connection between Sepsis attacks and cll. In basics I was back in hospital again due to sepsis attack. They changed my daily antibiotics to see if this would aid combating the sepsis attacks. Stared on the Monday , in hospital on the Friday epic fail so back on co-trimoxazole 160/800mg daily with ciprofloxacin as the booster if required. Presently seems I am stuck with the fact that this is how life will be for myself. The aftermath of the sepsis attacks is the most debilitating experience I have ever endured and considering I served in the Parachute reg British army I have had some tough days. It tough to stay mentally positive with all this going on.
stay safe all

Tonross, how worrisome this is for you! The doctors are prescribing what they have been taught and surely are taking in your individuality to fit the prescriptions the best. Take confidence in that and give it the time it takes. Sepsis is a stubborn infection. Try to give yourself one day of overcoming your worry with thinking of and gazing at pleasant and calming things; a movie, a book, a drive through a park, watch sports, sit in an uplifting place. Since this infection takes time to disappear, you take this same time to build yourself up. After one day, try to do it a second day and so on. Has your doctor prescribed anything to assist in a good night’s sleep? The best to you. Sandra👍🙏😊
thanks for the message, I have had as some would say a pretty mad life. Meaning my army days and my mountaineering which has enabled myself to see some amazing places. Positive thinking has been a trait of mine developed by what I have done. Presently however the level of frustration I am at with sepsis is at an all time high. thanks
I ended up in the hospital septic right after I was diagnosed, many years ago - 3 days of IV levequin and who knows what else. I was sent home with 5 days of levequin. The minute I finished the course of antibiotics I was back with full blown rigors. More levequin - more rigors 5 times. I finally suggested to my primary that we combine two different antibiotics, as my vet sometimes did if one of my pets wasn’t responding to just one. I don’t remember what the two were, or if I did more than 5 days, but I finally broke the pattern. I hope you can find the right med(s) to break your pattern. It was a very scary and frustrating time for me. Sending lots of positive thoughts from across the pond!
Edit - I am in no way suggesting levequin and now list it on my drug allergies, having learned about the Black Box Warnings regarding it's use. I believe that it is only appropriate as a last resort, though sepsis might cause it to be the needed intervention.
thanks, the place I am at is frustration. The speed at which sepsis strikes is outwith my control. On a plus side I can tell when its coming on or about to start. Thats when i take ciprofloxacin as the booster anti biotic . But i also know that the more I use it as a booster the more chance I have of my system getting used to it thus lesser effect. No easy route here , anyhow thanks from Sunny Scotland lol or rather we just had our summer lol
