Improving your fitness in persistent A-fib
I feel like the best approach is to build strength, as strength is a form of
fitness
. A sub-question is - does exercise get easier if you get "fitter"? Does a heart in a-fib respond in that way?

Starting (again)on 23rd August
However, I've still been able to go for a walk each day (3 miles yesterday) so I feel quite encouraged about general
fitness
going in for the SCT.

Completed it earlier in the year with a 5k charity shuffle, but havent been out much since and am losing

Making a Comeback from Covid ??? We Will but it may take a While ...
Factors such as age,
fitness
levels, specific symptoms, severity of the symptoms and duration of the sickness all play their part. Covid does cause different degrees of respiratory symptoms, coughing, congestion ( my case, blocked up head!)

Best fitness watch?
Hi, can anybody recommend a (reasonably inexpensive) watch for tracking my runs, please? My 5yo fitbit has finally failed and I need a replacement, to avoid relying totally on my phone apps. I have a Samsung phone, if that helps at all. Thank you. Rob

Tripudio Wellbeing Course- last chance
The course is suitable for all ages and
fitness
levels. Tripudio is Latin for 'dance', but also translates as 'leap with joy'. It does not exclude anyone as the exercises can be done seated. To learn more and book, see our website: https://nras.org.uk/wellbeing-courses/

Beginner & Swelling Problem...
I've started C25K to get back into
fitness
and I'm on Week 3 but have noticed some strange swelling. I have swollen lumps both sides of my ankles, both sides of my knees, and in a triangular muscle in my lower back (the piriformis according to Google!).

Pegs, calf-strain mysteries and thanks
And the recent article that Instructor57 posted - I think - confirmed that. ( https://healthunlocked.com/bridgeto10k/posts/149112678/losing-running-
fitness
) It’s much less likely that my 3-week illness and my running only once per week increased the load to the point of a calf muscle strain.

The SETBACK is the FIRST STEP towards your COMEBACK!
We want to keep the
fitness
and we want to feel like running again. So... how can we achieve that. The first thing we need to do is... WAIT. (What ) !!!! Yes, I said, WAIT. You need to wait until you are fully better before you run again.

CATCH-up-CORNER... JANUARY 2023...WEEK 2... Slip off your running shoes, come in inside. Everyone is Welcome.
To take it slow and steady and, listening to my body very carefully, try to build back to the level of
fitness
that is so right for me. When I feel I am back at that level... then I shall set some other goals !

I DON’T UNDERSTAND….
Until just before the pandemic I was heading off to ski in Austria …..all my adult life maintained a good level of activities and
fitness
……and now every single day is one struggle to another and sitting down has become the only relief I get !

PPMS...
Maintaining mobility and
fitness
are as important in people with PPMS as with anyone else. In addition, there are medications which may be used to treat symptoms such as bladder and bowel urgency, erectile problems, spasticity, and pain, if such treatments are needed.
