Heckington 10miler race report - what a scorcher!! 🥵🥵
😂 I did 1.36.49 which is 4 .5 mins slower than last year, so a bit disappointed but still not quite back to full
fitness
, so wasn't bad all considering. The winner did it in 51mins!!!!! He was coming in just as we were heading out for our second 5 miles!!

Starting out again
So I’ve decided to make a change and do something to improve my health,
fitness
and lose some excess timber. I’ve done couch to 5k before, so I know it works,. I just need to stick with it and enjoy the feeling of being a runner again. Good luck to everyone else on a similar journey xx

AF episode recovery - is this normal?
It took time but I had built back my
fitness
to a good level and was feeling well. A month ago after a chest infection followed by an asthma attack I woke up in AF. Took my fleccanide PIP (100mg) and went back into NSR within 50 mins.

So W1R1 today… with a promise to stop if it hurts….I’m starting from my lowest level of
fitness
ever due to 5 months enforced inactivity So wish me luck 🍀 I fear this maybe hard going but it’ll be so good to get back out there ! 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻🏃♂️💨

current update
i am also doing
fitness
walking and back at work full time on modified duties due to the lack of movement in it! I am having Exogen ultrasound on it everyday for 20mins which I do at home! I won’t know if it has worked until I have another CT scan in January and see the consultant!

Peg Interferon Journey
Platelets started to reduce very slowly &
fitness
uphill returned. Yesterday all my bloods are back in the normal range & platelets reading 260. Interferon is slow but to me it’s an excellent solution to my health . Maintenance is still 12 weeks blood checks .

Cirrhosis and now Pulmonary Hypertension - please help [yet again]
My Dad also has an enlarged right side of heart, but his doctor said that his was due to too much exercise [he's a
fitness
fanatic]. He's had a couple of stents [stints?] put in, and is on beta blockers.

When to "give up"?
I realize healing rates vary widely among men, due to variations in age,
fitness
, health, etc.

Tired, fatigued, out of breath, dizzy spells?? - don't ignore it, get checked!!
I thought how can that happen, I've always kept myself really fit, surely I can't lose
fitness
just like that? Had a few pals laughing saying ' you're getting old, its menopause , so I did think that was obviously the reason.

I decided to act my age ...
I accepted the inevitable and did a 15 minute senior strength -
Fitness
with Cindy - workout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLdcBgl35u4 I do run (or at least I will do again once antibiotics do their stuff) and I stretch.

Checking in with yourself to see how you’re progressing toward a goal and celebrating milestones along the way
This Renov8
Fitness
post so resonated with me that I have to repost it, most of it verbatim. "I’m a big believer in checking in with yourself to see how you’re progressing toward a goal – and in celebrating milestones along the way.

Family history of coronary heart disease
However, given my family history (my Dad was diagnosed with CHD in his early 50s despite being a lifelong non-smoker, non-drinker and
fitness
fanatic and the male line have all died of heart attack/stroke) I convinced the GP that further investigation was wise so was referred onwards.

Fitness/Heart-Rate wrist bands/watches suitable for over 60s?? Any recommendations?
Hello again. I've been searching online for a suitable watch/wristband for monitoring heart-rate, pedometer, BP, etc., that's waterproof (for swimming), has a large enough screen for me to read, and not too complicated - I don't want to make calls or send messages, don't want to pay a monthly subscription

How do I gradually run faster, what’s best?
I’m a very overweight post menopausal 54yr old who had a breast cancer op Oct last year & lost a lot of the little
fitness
& muscle tone I had whilst recovering, who’s still suffering tiredness (& peri-menopausal symptoms all over again) from the hormone therapy drugs I’m now on.
