W5 R3 - Where did that come from?!

20 mins continuous running. Didn't see that one coming. Even Jo Wylie seemed a bit embarrassed asking me to do it! Total torture. But... I did it... just. The last bit was uphill and I was begging for the music to cut out and Jo to say 'slow down and relax'.

I guess they think you're ready / prepared for it, but damn... that was hard (for a 56 yr old).

That said, Cto5k is an amazing thing. For mental health, weight loss and fitness.

😂 You are absolutely not the first person to make that observation! It’s a big mental step up but physically, you’re ready for it. You proved that today-great run! That can give you some real confidence that even if you’re doubting yourself, you can still get through. Hopefully you’re super proud of that milestone achievement.

Slowing down and relaxing is a great way to approach all your couch to 5k runs-loads of us take them too fast when it’s really about time on your feet building up your fitness. That can really help with the continuous runs coming up at the end of the programme. I’ve spotted you’re a newbie so I’ll point you to a helpful guide put together but one of our members…

It sounds like you’re doing brilliantly and I’m really looking forward to hearing how your next runs go, fellow runner!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

I'm due to do this run at Parkrun tomorrow. Nervous because I've never run for that long, but I'll give it a go.

Good luck for parkrun, just don't be distracted by all the speedy ones zooming off at the start and keep to your own run. You'll be fine!
