I used to be regular runner, but got out of the habit a few years ago and have only run intermittently since. In between a busy job, kids and being a carer for my wife, I’ve struggled to find the time and energy to look after my own well-being. So I’ve decided to make a change and do something to improve my health, fitness and lose some excess timber. I’ve done couch to 5k before, so I know it works,. I just need to stick with it and enjoy the feeling of being a runner again. Good luck to everyone else on a similar journey xx

🍏 excellent decision Chris to give yourself a little time out and mini respite in order to cope with the demands of caring, the kids and your job. Please let us know how the runs go.

There are many people on here, myself included who have had stop starts due to life and everyday struggles. But whenever I’m back in the groove I remember how good it makes me feel.
For me running is as much about my own headspace as trying to keep the pounds off. I was a lockdown graduate and there wasn’t really much else to do, and we all did it as a household though I am the only one who had kept it up. I was amazed that I fell in love with running, as I had always been a bit disparaging about it and I always said I’d never do it. Ha! How wrong I was, so that was the positive I took from Covid😂
Good luck with your journey and you’ll find lots of encouragement on here
