refractory RLS, taking morphine
I have been almost two weeks on time release morphine 30 mg, which I take about 7 PM, and it lasts 12 hours, to help me sleep. I tried 15 mg, which worked for about 6 nights, and then worked less and less until not working at all. (During the last three months, I got off 1 mg of pramipexole, and I

Good check up
I had my 3 month check up last week and it went better than I expected. It has now been 6 months since my DVT. My doctor cut my dose of Xarelto from 20 mg to 10 mg daily. My spouse went on a Keto diet, which meant that all of us in the house were on Keto. The number of A Fib episodes dropped dramatically

Cauliflower rice
Brilliant Mrs WTP idea for a low carb high mannitol food. Cauliflower rice. Chop a cauliflower in a food processor until couscous texture. Fry in a teaspoon of oil with salt pepper and a little cumin. Serve in place of rice. We had paprika pork (BBC dopamine-diet) brussel sprouts and cauliflower rice

Gluten free advice please
Hi everyone. I have Hashimoto's, so about 3 weeks ago I started on a gluten free diet (I've been tested and I'm not coeliac). All was going well until yesterday. Due to all the Christmas advertising, I had a yearning for some chocolate. On a couple of websites it was said that Cadbury's Giant Chocolate

do you really know what you’re eating?
Ive done a lot of research on dieting and food over the years and I learned that there are many things I see people calling healthy that aren’t. I don’t necessarily blame anyone for not realizing, many millennials and gen z kids (especially americans) didn’t really learn practical life skills in school

Low-carb (almost) Christmas
LCHF has a reputation for being as po-faced and limited as the traditional "healthy eating" guidelines set out by our Dear Leaders, but it really isn't. True, if you're attempting induction, Christmas is

FROSTY RUNNING!
Hey runners! I didn't get a chance to write here yesterday as I had such a busy day that when I got a chance to lay down and look at my phone I fell asleep! Yesterday morning I went running out in the freezing cold frost in a pair of shorts. I didn't want to get my jogging bottoms wet or muddy and so

Nervous but eager for tests next week
Hi all. I saw a gastroenterologist a while back and he wants to do endoscopy/colonoscopy which I'm scheduled to have next week. He said he's initially thinking of coeliac so I'm guessing endoscopy/biopsy would prove if he's right? When I thought about it afterwards I did find it a bit strange that he

3 Weeks Smoke Free!
Hi everyone; I'm so happy I can say I hit the 3 week mark today. So far it's not been too hard and I attribute that to Champix. I also started low-carb again this week and so far have lost 7 nasty pounds. Always lose the most the first week ... mostly water weight but I'll take it!! To say I felt "sober

Multiple issues with hashimoto out of the blue
Hello, this August they gave me 25mcg of levothyroxine which was really good for me. However, since my TSH was around 5, a doctor prescribed me 50mcg 4 days per week and 25mcg 3 days per week. I haven't had any symptoms transferring to this dosage which happened 5 weeks ago. However, in the past week
