I had my 3 month check up last week and it went better than I expected. It has now been 6 months since my DVT. My doctor cut my dose of Xarelto from 20 mg to 10 mg daily. My spouse went on a Keto diet, which meant that all of us in the house were on Keto. The number of A Fib episodes dropped dramatically on the low carb diet. I also lost 27 pounds since my previous visit and my BP was down 15 points. I left the office with a prescription for 10 mg Xarelto, which he says I can stop in 6 months, and a prescription for 100 mg of Flecainide to be taken only if an A Fib episode occurs. He is no longer pushing me to take BP medicine because he recognizes that I have had terrible side effects from all those we have tried. I am to continue on the Keto diet, which makes my spouse feel vindicated, and I don't have to go back for 6 months!
