Cholesterol
I'm currently trying to lose weight and my GP has told me my cholesterol is slightly raised. I don't know the exact numbers. All the conventional wisdom is that we should eat low fat foods to lower it but they are often processed and/or full of sugar. I guess my question is, has anyone here actually

Low carb frittata loaded with vegetables!
Just made this for the first time. I absolutely love Spanish omelette, but am trying to limit my carbs and find the perfect ratio of potato, sweetness from the onions and fat makes it just a little too moreish... I made this using lots of grates carrot and swede to give it that substance, but without

Hiya, sorry for the long post. I’ve been coeliac for over 10 years and still struggle daily with bloating and bowel problems. I stick to what I though was a strict gluten free diet staying away from oats, barley and rye also. My diet overall is pretty poor and contains a lot of caffeine and sugar ! I

LCHF...Answered me but it ALSO brought new QUESTIONS!
Four years ago in my mid 60 s I took interest in LCHF and was strictly following the guide lines and became near normal in all aspects. My consultant endocrinologist was highly pleased with the outcome! This is only one side of the story! Since of late I became loosing strength in my muscles…...

My struggle and I'm losing hope (long read)
Here we go. For a while I've considered joining a forum of some sort to perhaps find a bit of encouragement or to feel that I'm not alone. I was a chubby child once I reached maybe 8-9. About 2 stone (15kg) overweight by the time I was 13. I joined Weight Watchers and successfully lost 15kg (roughly

Diabetes and end stage liver cirrhosis.
Hi guys ... As I posted earlier my husband had very severe internal bleeding but somehow recovered. He is discharged from hospital 20days ago but is too weak. Has lost almost 20kgs of weight but the good news is he is not taking alcohol anymore. He is sedated with medicines and sleeps almost entire day

Epilepsy from T3 overdose?
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in October 2000. TSH above range, FT4 below range, anti-TPO and anti-thyroglobuline through the roof (Ft3 levels never measured). I was put on Euthyrox 50 mcg and the endo I was referred to said it should be raised until my TSH was <1.5 (ref 0.2-4.5). It took ten months

Newbie here
So like a lot of people I'm trying to lose weight. I'm new here and haven't really tried LCHF before. I was at my Dr recently and got my cholesterol done and had to monitor my blood pressure for a week. I don't know if the cholesterol was high, I haven't heard back from them yet (no news is good news

The Doctor's (and Your Dilemma).
So, a few weeks ago I became an ambassador for the Public Health Collaboration (PHC) and shortly afterwards presented an LCHF info pack to my GP. What response did I get back? Not even an acknowledgement despite me pointing to the success of Dr David Unwin and the monetary advantage for his practice

Weight loss slow- I don’t think I’m doing it right
Hi all, I started at 202lbs back on 18th March and cut out pasta, rice, cakes, biscuits, beer, bread and have not had any of the above since. I have been doing what I think is a lchf diet being around 35g carbs a day. From being the worst at drinking water I’m now clearing 2.5ls a day. I only eat lunch

Graves and low carb diet
Hi all, I have graves and waiting to have my thyroid removed. Currently take 20mg carbimazole and 60 propanalol. I am putting on so much weight it's getting me down. What's your ACTUAL risk of heart disease?
MikePollard recently posted a video on the LCHF forum that really deserves a wider audience, especially since we've had a lot of posts recently from people worried about their cholesterol. https://youtu.be/t8njzjSIybk It's possibly not the best video on the subject, but it's describing a test called

How much fat do we actually need?
There are some on this forum who think they need to eat a high-fat diet. There are others, like myself, who eat a predominantly low-fat diet. So let me ask how much fat is in your diet? Can you give an idea is terms of either weight or calories per day? Do you think that is enough? Why is it enough

10 months since starting on a Keto Diet and still on Zero Medication - progress report :-)
Update17.04.2019 So, currently I’m somewhere between Keto Diet LCHF and Full Carnivore with Intermittent Fasting. Delighted to say that my diarrhoea gradually cleared up and was possibly caused by a bug rather than carnivory. I’ve cut back on my coffee intake, take a (very) cold shower when I get up

LCHF diet .
Home made pork scratching with salad. Only thing is I eat most of them before my wife made the salad. Chirpy on the outside and soft in the middle with perfect seasoning...best in the world.
