I think all autoimmune Thyroiditis suffers should go gluten-free
As per the title, this is an opinion piece. Please see the disclaimer at the bottom that has been there since the start. I’m surprised the Thyroid UK site doesn’t say this already. I’m living proof of the dramatic impact, on anti-thyroid antibodies, that switching to a gluten-free diet can have. It

Biofeedback/Evelina/Great Ormond Street
Hi, Just wondered if any of you had come across biofeedback bowel training for children? My son has been unable to do a normal bowel movement for 9 months now (age 9.5 and in nappies) and we are seeing gastroenterologist in couple of weeks and I’m thinking of asking him to refer us to Great Ormond Street

Heartburn/reflux, coated pred?
Is this from the pred? I’m wondering about the timing of this symptom. I’m currently on 25 mg. Tapered down from 40, been on the 25 for almost a month. (Rheumy wanted me on 20 by now but I stopped tapering due to a lot of stress, etc. ) I’ve had a lot more reflux, heartburn, that’s happening

Newly diagnosed Hashimoto
Hi all, I have just been diagnosed with Hashimoto ‘s thyroid disease. I am fortunate to have no symptoms but found a lump on my thyroid. As I have a sister with the disease and my other sister is type 1 diabetic it seemed an obvious diagnosis. My free t4 is 16.4 g(12.0-22.0), tsh (1.42(0.27-4.2) and

My fatigue mystery solved
I’d like to share my story in the hope that it might help someone else. For as long as I can remember I’ve been battling chronic fatigue, pain, insomnia, bowel issues and been told there was nothing wrong because the standard NHS blood tests said so. I had been on this forum before as I had to assume

I’m new, but have to share.
Was diagnosed with wet macular degeneration, left eye, Jan. 2017. I called it the “Big Mac”. At that time left eye vision was 20:70, with approx. 1/2” dia. black jagged floater with extreme distortion.. Right eye 20:20. On Jan. 31, 2017, began 1st monthly Avastin injection, ultimately receiving 4 injections

Mixed feelings about appointment
So I had my doctors appointment this morning following up blood tests (only the aforementioned TPO 117 iu/ml and TSH 2.2 (range 0.1-4.5) was measure unfortunately SeasideSusie). GP agreed to trying me on 75mcg levothyroxine on a trial basis which is good, and wants me in next week for bloods to check T3

Is barley malt extract gluten free?
I have followed a gluten free diet since before Christmas which doesn’t seem to have made much difference. I sometime have Rice Krispies, and read that BME can be tolerated by celiacs, however this seems debatable. I’m now unsure if this could be why being GF hasn’t made a difference to me. Any ideas

Hello everyone - Having experienced a TIA at the beginning of February and having been admitted to hospital for a couple of days then diagnosed with A-Fib a few weeks later following monitoring with a portable ECG, I discovered and registered on this site and have found the comments both informative

Feeling worried
I’ve been on 15 mg of Pred for 7 weeks after having upped it from my start dose of 10 mg for 3 weeks. The 10 mg was too low and gp agreed to increase, thank goodness. Was going to try reducing to 14 mg this week but over the last three days have been getting bad neck pain that seems to come from base

Salad with Dinner 🍴🥗🥘
Here’s a picture of the salad I had with my dinner tonight when I went out to see my single’s group. The salad was for me since the rest of the group ordered non-gluten free pizza. That’s okay because the salad had red and orange colored peppers and bright red tomatoes cut up. Very good and low carb

Wilson's Temperature Syndrome
Thank you for accepting me in this forum. I have been ill since my thirties (I am now 67) and was diagnosed at 50 with Hashimotos, it seems to be hereditary as my mother and two sisters also have it. I was put on only 25mg of thyroxine and from that moment on I was a lot worse. I asked if I could
