Preservatives in eyedrops
hello I have been using Ilube eye drops for years. ( Acetylcysteine 5% )I have recently discovered it contains preservative benzalkonium chloride which is toxic to the eye. Is this a reason to stop using it or is the preservative not in large amounts? Many thanks

T3 and magnesium / electrolyte supplements: I messed up, but is it just the supplements to blame?
I have been on the same dose of T4 and T3 for the last 7 months ( T4: 82mcg and T3:22.5 mcg). I was then diagnosed with ADHD end of April and started taking Lisdexamfetamine plus electrolyte supplements. (Magnesium citrate, plus : Electrolyte complex - Ingredients: Calcium salts of orthophosphoric

Persistent UTI's, appears only with sexual activity without protection
History of urinary tract infection I have had this infection for 3 years, Escherichia coli always comes out in the urine culture, except for one time when Proteus came out. For treatment I have used ciprofloxacin, amikacin, nitrofurantoin, levofloxacin (but there was resistance to it), Amoxicillin

Out of control Blood Sugar
Beyond sharing the latest research, we need to share what we experience daily, how we are responding and the outcome. Is anyone experiencing HIGH blood sugar while on a low carb diet? Over the past few months I watched my BS go above 200 all the way to 212 while on the same food - eating one meal a

Annual check up - anyone good with recipe ideas?!
Hubby had annual check up with gastro consultant on Friday. We are utterly blessed to have the most sensible, supportive consultant, who out of all the consultants we see (hubby has 3, I have 1) is our favourite. He is concerned about the amount of weight hubby has put on, much of which we expected

hypothyroidism stable but now pre diabetic
Good day! I’ve not posted in a while, I’ve fortunately been stable with my thyroid for over a year. I did however, get diagnosed with glaucoma and after being asked by two doctors if I was diabetic, I pushed my PCP to test A1c. Turns out it was high and gives me a diagnosis of pre diabetic. I guess

Is high or low protein better for W&W?
Would love yall's thought on which better in W&W, high or low protein diet, if either. I am thinking about this because last week blood test shows me teetering on the edge of insufficient IgG, which I have been before -- and found articles indicating I need to eat more protein. But wondering what affects

Colonoscopy June 2024 - No polyps...but

Not losing weight on an Atkins Diet- suggestions please
I am a 76 year old man. My BMI is in the stated range at 22 though I’m not sure the calculations for BMI at my age are valid or whether the tables factor in the variable and progressive muscle wasting of old age. I have very evident muscle wasting compared to my younger more active days which is normal

I have very evident muscle wasting compared to my younger more active days which is normal and to be expected. I have also developed an early pot belly which is not good for my male ego.

Summer, come back! (because I’m back!)
Three weeks ago I caught some form of Covid-stomach bug, and I was down for a good 10 days, seldom having felt so ill! Once I started to eat reasonably normal again, I introduced some gentle rowing, and then a couple of tentative, little runs last week marked my progress. They felt great! And they
