Hi can anyone tell me the symptoms of GCA and how to get tested for it please? I was started on 20mg prednisolone a day in July although my symptoms began end of March this year. this only helped my pain and I spent most of the day in bed. After 3 weeks I was told to reduce by 5mg a week but after 4

Update to current status
Hi everyone, Since joining this group I have learned a great deal about this debilitating condition that has been a part of my life for the best part of 20 years- thanks to all contributors. As an update, I thought I would share my current status. I was on 2mg’s ropinirole with very variable results

Who’s taking tramadol.. advice please!
I started taking tramadol today I was nervous but so far had no side effects apart from feeling quite chilled out! I’m on 50mg and A max of 400mg a day so I’m taking 2 x 50mg dosage when I need it. Do I just take it when I’m in pain or do I carry on taking it regular regardless so it builds up? I’ve

RLS, tramadol and the opiate epidemic.
I wish we could start a movement promoting opiates for RLS. John Hopkins University states that "Dr. Willis (as in Willis-Ekbom diesease) in his description of this disease in 1685 also reported on the benefits of opiates for treating the symptoms. Thus for over 300 years opiates remained the only truly

Scared to take tramadol..
I’ve been given tramadol by my dr to help with people. Relief which is great but I’m actually nervous to take it. My mum had horrific side effects on it -throwing up. So I’m a bit nervous

The Salt Room ...
Hi Everyone, thought I would tell you about what has happened to me over the last couple of days. I have been travelling quite well on 6 mgs of pred and tocilizumab jabs weekly and some girlfriends invited me to come along with them to “The Salt Room”. It sounded fab, described as a cure for all sorts

Every day seizures
My 16 yrs old daughter has been diagnosed with FND. It's a hard time for my family. She is the kindest, brilliant girl. started with chronic pain at 12 when we moved from Canada to our home country. Last year she got a very high dose of tramadol at the emergency room because of the pain. 2 hours later

Macrogol causing bloating?
Hi guys, I have coeliac disease and IBS this is not actually really related to that but just so you know 😂 I have an undiagnosed bladder issue (suspected interstitial cystitis) waiting for an operation the pain kept landing me in a&e so the doctors have put me on tramadol. Which is causing constipation

I'm new to this damned illness!!
Hi everyone, was 'officially' diagnosed with Fibromyalgia half way through lockdown. It couldn't have come at a worse time as I was just coming out of a severe bout of PTSD following my wife's cancer battle. At the same time I was also diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the impact of this plus

Supporting an abused family member
My first post. I suffer with health anxiety, and currently my main symptoms triggers are due to the abuse my brother and our family experience at the hands of his wife. She is a coercive controller, and also a hoarder. In the last few years her domination of my brother has become total, and he’s now

I am not a trained medical professional. The advice I give is based on my 20+ years as a male with this condition and She Who Must Be Obeyed 23+ years living with ms G’day my ms family. The end of another week, where does the time go. I can say that because old people say it and I am thinking that

Update feel much better
Dear All Wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you showed me over the last few days . Hubby had a pain management review with GP and was prescribed codeine phosphate with paracetamol. I wasn’t convinced with this due to bad reviews of codeine so decided to stick
