Test results and what to ask next
Hi. I finally got ahold of my test results from 4 weeks ago. With these results and a few abnormalities with liver and protein tests the doc was going to just ask me back in 3 months like the test results suggested. When I started asking what could she do for my symptoms now and listed a few of them

Your Tips for gaining and maintaining weight.
I drink fortisip, fortified whole milk, I have tried
whey
protein
etc but I seem to burn calories faster than I can take them in. I plan to get up to 67kgs which means I need to gain another 9 kgs. What products have other people used to help them gain weight?

Summoned due to test results
I've had a phone call to go to the Doc to discuss my blood results. Apart from the high B12 (jab 2 weeks before) and the high Folate (was high on previous test too), I can't see anything out of range, unless I'm missing something obvious, unless they are worried about the Folate. Normal Doc is off sick

long term thyroid hypo, - which tests are most useful, please?
Is this the most useful test, as I think I am changing from hypo thyroid to hyper or fluctuating between the 2. also have symptoms related to P.A. I need to have tests to find out what is happening. I was going to send for the Thyroid test including the 2 a/bodies from blue horizon. TSH, FT4, FT3

one year post Proton Therapy At University of Maryland Proton Center
OMG it was the best treatment for me. I would recommend this treatment to anyone who qualify. The consult is free. If you have medicare, it's covered. I strongly advise seeking it as one of your options before making a decision. I found out about Proton therapy from the group. I don't remember the guys

Help with Interpretation of Results
Hi everyone, Thanks to some members recommmending having private blood tests, I have received the following results (below). Can anyone recommend what these thyroid results mean? I already take 200mg levothyroxine a day and if anything, since my dose has been increased, it has made me more tired. B12

Blood test results.
The reason the GP referred me to the rheumatologist is because I have an elevated Plasma C reactive protein, an elevated Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and a low red blood cell count and low packed cell volume. Anyone else have these?

First post - B12 & leg cramps
I'd like some advice for my other half please. He's just had a blood test to investigate night cramps, insomnia, forgetfulness & pale skin among others! GP has prescribed Vit D, which he'd been taking for a while anyway, but wouldn't do anything about the low B12 as it's "within range". Said he could

update - homocysteine and MMA results and C-reactive Protein levels
Afternoon all, on this glorious day. Just a bit of an update from me. Saw my GP this week. Firstly we went through my Homocysteine and MMA results. both were in the normal range around the middle, however I queried why they would both be in the same part of the range, when one was taken 8 weeks after

N-ACETYLCYSTEINE REDUCES LUPUS DISEASE ACTIVITY
I do a combination of NAC, 1200mg 3 times daily and one
Whey
protein
shake that gives me the equivalent of at least the additional 1200mg of NAC, so far no GI issues or anything. I have not felt any better or worse, but it is still early days to make any judgement.

Blood Test Results and Symptoms
Perplexed; my anti-smooth muscles is negative, my Gamma GT is 47 (H), C Reactive Protein is high at 18.8, my AMA is 83.9, however my ALT and AST are normal. I am experiencing extreme fatigue, nausea, burning and itchy skin. My GI consultant says because my ALT and AST is not high I did not have PBC

X-Ray and should I fast for these blood tests ?
Thanks for the reply, I have just had an appt. with my 'proper' doctor(who is only there part-time) had to insist on seeing him as they like to pass you over to whoever is available. Told him about these symptoms and that I was mainly concerned with the pins/needles in leg etc. Has sent me for X-Ray

17 years metastatic and still going strong!
I'm a 24 year survivor with 17 years at Stage 4 and still going strong! The cancer went into my bones in 2000 and in my chest wall and liver in 2007. I was on hormonals until 2007 and then switched to chemo. I have been on a new chemo about every year and 1/2 on average. I did Proton Therapy on my
