The reason the GP referred me to the rheumatologist is because I have an elevated Plasma C reactive protein, an elevated Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and a low red blood cell count and low packed cell volume. Anyone else have these?

this says you are very anaemic, but the rest of your blood tests (which you have not given) could say in which direction your GP should send you. I expect other tests would/ should be done to give a clearer picture of your problem, or what type of anaemia you have, this only gives a very small part of your problem. Hope this is of some help.
