Test results and what to ask next

Hi. I finally got ahold of my test results from 4 weeks ago. With these results and a few abnormalities with liver and protein tests the doc was going to just ask me back in 3 months like the test results suggested. When I started asking what could she do for my symptoms now and listed a few of them she gave me water tablets for swelling feet (and high blood pressure) and booked me to go back today for more blood tests on B12, bone profile, C reative protein, Ferritin, FSH & LH, Haemolysis check, immunoglobulins and syrum, Electrophoresis, immunology carrier test, liver function tests, oestradiol and Thyroid peroxidase Ab (TPO).

What do I need to particularly ask about when I go back in 2 weeks for the results? In case it helps the other odd results were serum albumin bellow range, serum globulin above range and serun C reactive protein above range. Thanks

Your TSH is high which usually indicates primary hypothyroidism. Protocol suggests that retesting should be done 2-3 months after the first abnormal TSH result in case TSH is elevated by a virus or infection which would be expected to resolve within 3 months.

If your TPOab is elevated that indicates autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's) which causes 90% of hypothyroidism and your GP should initiate Levothyroxine without further delay.

Thank you clutter. I did have a thyroid test a few years ago actually that came back out of range but the follow up came back normal so they never did any more.

Hopefully the TPOab one will resolve it for whether I need medication or not then.
